Welcome to: Washington, D.C. 🏛️🌸🇺🇸 | Meet @ncstate alumnus Sam Lee ’09, Structural Engineering Associate with KPFF Consulting Engineers. “A piece of advice I would give, whether you’re moving out of Raleigh or going somewhere else in the country or world, is to be open to new experiences while staying true to yourself. Take the things you love about where you came from, share those things, and tell the stories of what made your time at NC State special with the people you meet.” 📍We highlighted NC State young alumni from across the country as we attended our Welcome to the City events. Explore upcoming events near you via the link in our bio. #HowlBack Sam Lee poses in front of a fountain on a sunny day in Washington, DC.

“Thank you for such an insightful talk last Friday!” One of the best feelings? When someone reaches out after a talk to share their reflections. Last week, I had the honor of returning to speak with PhD students at NC State College of Engineering @ncstateengr Yes you guessed the topic: perfectionism. 📋The students took my perfectionism quiz and discovered their type: The Self-Critic The Frustrated Fixer The Performer The Sustainable High Achiever Naming the pattern is the first step to changing it. The expectation of perfection, including in academic pursuits, is inherently dehumanizing. 💡 Ambition, diligence, and discipline are not perfectionism. That is Excellencism. ❌ Fear, rejection intolerance, silent shame, and impostorism are some of the colors of perfectionism. Thank you @marcybull for the invitation and for creating space for these crucial conversations. I appreciate your reflections about my talk Samuel T.S. Anang. P.S. You can take also my free quiz and find out “What Type of Perfectionism Is Sabotaging Your Success?” ⬆️ LINK IN BIO #professionalspeaker #keynotespeakers #tedxspeaker #dramnashabbir

More memories from last night’s Wolfpack victory. It was so cool to get a video from a Kinston NC State student via the Ktown friend network. The locker room celebration gives me joy seeing the team celebrate reaping the rewards of their hard work. I’m so proud Henri (#67) is an inspiration. He’s having the time of his life and demonstrating to us all what can happen if we never see a barrier and keep working towards our goals, balancing physical and intellectual. I love this young man. An interesting tale of the rare, true and pure student athlete, out there because he loves the Wolfpack, ready to help his team get a victory. @henri_skis @packfootball @ncstateengr @ncstatemae

You can take E 101 on campus. But what if you could take the same course—and experience it from the other side of the world? This summer, take E 101: Introduction to Engineering & Problem Solving in Prague, Czech Republic, with NC State faculty and earn credits toward your degree. You’ll still get the rigorous engineering coursework. But outside the classroom, you’ll get something you can’t replicate on campus: six weeks of living, learning, and exploring in Czechia. Complete E 101 and EC 205: Fundamentals of Economics, earn 4 NC State credits, and experience local events, field trips, and an excursion to the picturesque South Bohemian town of Český Krumlov. The course may be the same. The experience won’t be. ⏰ E 101 Application Deadline: November 15, 2026 Got questions? Check out our Linktree in the bio!
