I want to take this opportunity to thank all the athletes for the trust they put in me to represent them as well as the Rwanda 🇷🇼 @rwandaolympic for allowing me to be the voice of the athletes since I was named Chairperson on February 12, 2023.

As I reflect on this incredible journey, I leave knowing that we made big strides in sharing information and learning about anti-doping, career pathways, mental health awareness, athlete branding, life after our playing careers to mention but a few.

Guiding athletes on the possibilities available in the Olympic movement and also gaining a deep understanding of the Olympic values like excellence, respect and friendship was among my many highlights.

As I move on from this role, I would like to emphasize that I remain available and committed to support the athletes in their endeavours. Murakoze cyane 🙏🏾 kandi Imana ikomeze ibarinde.

THE RWANDAN CORE 🇷🇼

Behind RSSB Tigers’ historic BAL championship run is a group of Rwandan players who have been at the heart of this team every step of the way.

Ntore Habimana brings ball-handling, playmaking and shooting, while Axel Mpoyo adds scoring, defense and rebounding, Dieudonne Ndizeye brings scoring and rebounding, and Steven Hagumintwari adds defensive intensity and rebounding.

And now they’re in Beijing, ready for the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, which starts in two days 🏆
