“WHO YOU ARE AS A PERSON, OUTSIDE OF WHO YOU ARE AS AN ATHLETE, CAN BE EVEN MORE IMPORTANT” Incredible conversation with Molly Bruggeman, 2024 Olympian and world best time finisher with her teammates in the 4- last month at the 2026 World Championships, and we are diving into her path from her first strokes in Ohio, to D1 rowing, to a decades long journey to compete in her first Olympics in Paris! Molly (@mobruggie) is a blast to talk to, and brings amazing energy as we discuss… *Her path to Notre Dame, to being cut from the Olympic team in 2016, an alternate in 2021, and an Olympian in 2024, and now only getting faster in 2026. *How playing volleyball through high school in the winter, and a focus on strength training in college, helped contribute to her longevity as an elite rower. *Molly’s superpowers for career resiliency, including hard work and grit, but most importantly, having fun with her teammates and enjoying the process. Molly’s story is awesome, I absolutely encourage any high school or college rower who is looking to learn how to stay in the fight, while also staying present and having fun, to give this one a listen! Tomorrow is the day! The @concept2inc Fall Challenge kicks off, and team Ailish Sheehan Superstars is ready to move. Over the next month, from September 15th to October 15th, our family will be clocking up the miles on the erg, running, and cycling as we work together to cover the 3,935 miles between the University of London Boat Club and the University of Notre Dame in honor of Ailish. Whether you are jumping on a rowing machine, putting on your running shoes, or getting out on the bike, every single mile and meter you log brings us closer to our goal. Limber up, get ready, and let's make every metre count! Today marks 10 years since we said goodbye to her, and while time moves forward, there is still a very large missing piece from our lives that we still feel everyday. Her energy and enthusiasm knew no bounds, her generosity was unmatched, and her strength was a pillar we all leaned on, simply because she always held her doors and heart open to let us....and my goodness, that infectious laugh of hers 🩷 To honor her memory, our whole family is coming together once again for the Concept 2 Fall Challenge, running from September 15th to October 15th, as team Ailish Sheehan All Stars. Our collective goal is to cover the distance from the University of London, where she was studying for her master's, all the way to the University of Notre Dame, where she earned two-time All-American honors during her undergrad...a whopping 6,333km! Whether on an erg, running, or cycling, every single mile counts. Meet Lilly Keegan, student-athlete at the University of Notre Dame, and one of the BL Next All-Stars attending #ElevateTheGame on September 17. “BL Next has had an immense impact on my career journey. Before BL Next, I struggled to build a strong real estate foundation through traditional extracurriculars due to my schedule as a student-athlete. While I had the passion to pursue a career in commercial real estate, I lacked the technical skills needed to break into the industry. Through BL Next, I have attended numerous webinars with industry-leading professionals, connected with an incredible mentor, and completed over 150 hours of real estate financial modeling coursework. It has been inspiring to learn from former student-athletes leading the industry today, like my mentor Payton Saca, who recently co-founded her own real estate investment firm. Without these experiences, landing my internship in real estate private equity this past summer wouldn’t have been possible. BL Next has boosted my confidence by helping me build a strong real estate foundation and by allowing me to see the unique value I can bring to the industry as a student-athlete.
