Every great journey starts somewhere. Ours started in Ibadan 10 years ago, and today, the journey has taken us to over 10 countries.

According to the World Economic Forum, women made up only 28.2% of the global STEM workforce in 2024. At the current rate of progress, equal representation may not be achieved until 2070.

This International Women’s Day, under the theme “Give to Gain,” we asked ourselves what meaningful action truly looks like. For us, the answer was simple, “Exposure”. Because you cannot dream what you have never seen, and you cannot pursue what your imagination has never been introduced to.

So we opened our doors. We welcomed 103 students from 19 schools across our factory communities, young people who walked our floors, met our people, and felt, perhaps for the very first time, that a future in STEM wasn’t someone else’s story. It was theirs to write.

We don’t know which of those 103 will go on to become engineers, scientists, or factory leaders. But we know they left seeing a world slightly wider than the one they arrived in. And sometimes, that is all it takes.

The biggest transformations are born in the smallest moments of visibility. That is what giving means to us. And what we hope to gain, together, is a generation of women who never had to wonder whether there was a place for them in STEM, because they saw it with their own eyes.
