⭐️ Last Night’s BUILDING BEYOND BUSINESS Panel Conversation was powerful beyond words!! What I’ve learned about building, is that businesses can generate revenue and still fail to develop people. An organization can grow its reach but not the trust of its community. A leader can build an impressive title, platform, or personal brand while leaving behind a culture in which no one else becomes stronger. During Black Business Month, we rightfully celebrate entrepreneurship, ownership, innovation, economic growth, and the people who have had the courage to build something from the ground up. This conversation went a bit deeper and beyond the “making your first million” and into understanding what our organizational leadership is responsible for BEYOND those achievements. LEADERSHIP, at its core, is STEWARDSHIP. We believe there is an innate responsibility we carry BEYOND THE BUSINESS to invest in people, cultivate trust in our spheres of influence, widen opportunities for others, and build communities strong enough to outlast our own presence. Believe it or not, but July was a slow and restful month for me 😅. I got to catch up with myself after the sprint I had in May & June. I got to spend some quality time with great people and support and celebrate my friends! @lemons_2_lemonade hosted 2 events, and I had the opportunity to present and moderate at the National Urban League conference.
