Even though I had already made the move to California at the time, it always meant a lot to me that I had a Transworld cover from back home in North Carolina. This cover happened at a really transitional part of my career, and the timing was pretty ironic. I rode for New Deal from the beginning in 1990 until the fall of 1996. That’s when I went back to NC and we shot this photo (of course not knowing it would be a cover). A couple months later I got on Black Label and rode for Black Label for a few years. So this cover photo was during the couple months I didn’t have a board sponsor which is why I’m riding a blank board. Photo by Pete Thompson

Some of my fondest memories in my life are from skate and work trips to Australia, so seeing the news recently has been so sad to see all of the destruction from the bushfires. Living in California, I know the damage these wildfires can do, but these fires this season in Australia are just next level. Thanks @professorschmitt for making the coolest skate and BMX trophies ever for this weekends Hot Wheels Junior Open. Was so cool to see how psyched the kids were on winning these beauties. Congrats to everyone that took one home. Tehachapi or bust!
