HAPPY BIRTHDAY YAKI KADAFI — FOREVER REMEMBERED 🕊️

Today, October 9, we remember Yafeu “Yaki Kadafi” Fula, born October 9, 1977. A talented rapper, a founding member of the Outlawz, and one of the people closest to Tupac Shakur.

Yaki wasn’t just another rapper in Tupac’s circle. He and Pac shared a bond that went back to childhood. Their families had connections through their parents’ involvement in the Black Panther movement, and they grew up with a connection that went beyond music.

Tupac became a mentor and father figure to Yaki. When Pac was incarcerated in 1995, the two helped develop the group that became the Outlawz, giving Yaki a place alongside Pac in hip-hop history. He also appeared on Me Against the World and All Eyez on Me.

On September 7, 1996, Yaki was riding in a vehicle behind Tupac and Suge Knight when Tupac was shot in Las Vegas. Pac died six days later, on September 13, at just 25 years old.

Yaki was reportedly a potential witness to the shooting, making his own death even more haunting to many hip-hop fans.

Just 58 days after Tupac died, Yaki Kadafi was fatally shot in New Jersey on November 10, 1996. He was only 19 years old. His death added another heartbreaking chapter to one of hip-hop’s most tragic periods. His killing remains a painful part of the story surrounding that era.

Two young lives. Two extraordinary talents. Two legacies that continue to live through their music.

HAPPY HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY, YAKI KADAFI. FOREVER OUTLAW. FOREVER REMEMBERED.

Rest in peace, Yak. October 9, 1977 – November 10, 1996.

As a Tupac fan for more than 20 years, now in my early 50's this murder trial is hard to watch. Pac's music and inspirational quotes have got me through some dark times and continue to do so. It must be horrific for his family and close friends to sit through in the search for Justice and Peace. Thug In Peace Makaveli 😥👑🐐🙏🏾 #2pac #tupac #tupacshakur #tupacamarushakur #makaveli
