Honestly, we left the Presidential Filipinovation Awards feeling something we haven’t felt in a long time — hope. 🕊🇵🇭

To actually see innovation happening in real time, right here in the Philippines, felt different. This wasn’t just talk. It was proof that we’re moving toward something real. A future of matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na buhay para sa lahat.

Congratulations to all the winners, participants, and everyone in our growing startup and innovation ecosystem proving that the Filipino spirit of creativity and resilience can truly change the world. 🌏

Huge thanks to @bongbongmarcos for championing Filipino innovation, H.E. the Ambassador of Japan for the continued partnership and support, and to the incredible leaders: the Executive Secretary, the Secretaries of @nedahq , @dictgovph , @doh.philippines , @dti.philippines and especially Diane Gail L. Maharjan, Executive Director of the National Innovation Council whose passion and leadership make this vision come alive. 🙌

If this is what the next chapter of our country looks like, we all in. 💡🇵🇭
See you next year;
maybe not in the audience this time. 😉

The Konektadong Pinoy Act becoming law marks a significant step in advancing the Philippines’ digital transformation agenda 📡

The British Chamber commends the Marcos Jr. administration, the Department of Information and Communications Technology, the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development, and partners agencies involved, for strengthening connectivity and digital access, laying the groundwork for reliable and affordable internet nationwide.

As BCCP Executive Vice Chair Chris Nelson noted in an ANC interview, “This will support the digital economy. We want to see the Philippines moving forward, we want to see a much more integrated connectivity.”

Aligned with the Chamber’s advocacies, this measure will drive telecom investments, enhance cybersecurity, and advance e-governance – pillars of inclusive and sustainable growth 🇵🇭🌐

NORTHERN MINDANAO ECONOMIC DEV’T COMMITTEE CHAIR SAYS DEPDEV CHARTER WILL HAVE BENEFICIAL IMPACT

[Yung dating NEDA, Department of Economy, Planning, and Development na ngayon sa bisa ng RA 12145]

The DEPDEV Charter or Republic Act 12145 is a law that will have beneficial impact on our work in the Economic Development Committee of the Northern Mindanao Regional Development Council.

In the new law, the powers and functions of the RDC are expanded. These are enumerated in Section 36. Among these new mandates are:

1. Initiate and coordinate the identification and formulation of priority inter-LGU and special development projects, and oversee their implementation in coordination with the concerned agencies and LGUs;

2. Coordinate and lead the monitoring and evaluation of major projects undertaken by national government agencies, GOCCs, and special development authorities, as well as LGU projects funded by the national government;

3. Review and approve masterplans, such as those for metropolitan areas and river basins;

4. Pursue capacity building of LGUs on socio-economic planning, investment programming, project development, and monitoring and evaluation.

The former legal bases of the RDC powers are in Executive Order 325, series of 1996. RA 12145 is definitely an upgrade.

I give special credit to my fellow Mindanaoan, Bukidnon Second District Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores, who was principal sponsor of the DEPDEV Charter.

Rep. Flores has done admirably well as chairman of the House Committee on Government Reorganization from which the DEPDEV Charter emanated. (END)
