@life.of.lumpy was an important member of the Charleston/South Carolina hardcore community. He was a selfless person that loved playing music. He was even going to backline his drums for the show on Sunday. He suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury in 2023. It was inspiring to watch the entire community come together and celebrate as he learned how to do things we take for granted again over the next year. I’ll never pretend I was close to him, but you can tell when people are good ones.

Asher passed away this week, and it leaves a deep hole in this community. On Sunday there is a service for him from 3-5. We will have a smaller bill on Sunday at the Garden to allow for those involved to Grieve.

Rest in Power @life.of.lumpy, thank you for being an inspiration.

Exciting times as we introduce our new Social Science Chairperson, Dr. Edward Rinalducci, joining us from Georgia Southern University! 🌟

With a wealth of experience as a seasoned professor, he brings a passion for education and a commitment to fostering a healthy learning environment for our students. We are thrilled to embark on this journey with such a dedicated leader! 🦈

This past month has been filled with more love and rewarding experiences than I ever thought imaginable. For starters, so many new and wonderful people have come into my life recently, and these connections continue to grow stronger and stronger each day. To add to that, a lot of these new friends have come into my life due to the Two Penny Tales murder mysteries that originally started off as just a fun event that I participated in, but have now become a major source of joy and community in my life. Two months of work and preparation went into our last show. It was the first time I’ve written something in a long long time, and I cannot begin to express how rewarding it was to see Josh, Greg, and my ideas come to life. The overwhelming support from everyone that participated warmed my heart so much that I’m already committed to writing another show for October, so stay tuned!

Not only do I have that in the works, but I’ve also started volunteering with the Dragonfly Social, a weekly event hosted for members of the differently abled community to come and hang out with each other in a positive environment, while also educating those around us about our community. I’m at a loss for words at how this event and these people have impacted me over this past month, and I can’t wait to see our community grow even more!

And lastly, I was able to fly home to see Meg right before she left for her study abroad program in Korea. Not to mention, spending time with the family was much needed and very good for my mental health. The next few months are going to be filled with lots of new creative ventures, and I’m going to admit it, I’m proud of myself for how much I’ve accomplished over these past few months. But my work isn’t done yet, in fact, it’s only just begun…😉

P.S. swipe to the end for a surprise

Great @dirtyhoneyband and @theblackcrowes show at Lakewood Ampitheater. Outdoor concerts seem safer, but I’d still like to have seen a few more masks (we only removed ours for the picture)

Systemic racism runs deep in this country. Some times it pops up in surprising and insidious ways. I talk about this and other things in my latest episode with my friend Dr. Ned Rinalducci
