Had a dope time hosting our @blackfootwearforum family in NYC last weekend. The space was filled with vibes, networking, and feedback on pitching your brand, your ideas, or yourself. I’m grateful to everyone who helped pull this together, let’s keep making space for each other on this marathon. Community not competition 👌🏿

This past weekend @blackfootwearforum met in NYC, and we shook things up a bit by partnering with @footlocker LEED to host a pitch workshop & contest for local entrepreneurs, and WOW, it was super amazing to see so many Black folks with their own sneaker brands, committed to bringing their products to life. @sip_lightly was on site with the summertime mocktails 🍹with goods provided by @coach and themed desserts by @eatgoodnyc. @lovecarmellaxoxo @staylaced_don + @ipo_ro led an amazing discussion, @bostonchery created the vibes, and a big thank you to @___paulina @iamtaineal for working out all the details for us 🖤🥹🥂 @brotha_d — @tts.agency can’t do none of this ish without you. A designer emailed me to ask if they could send me a pair of shoes. My assistant gave him our address. Yesterday she walked out of the office and came back with a package. “Oh I met the designer, he dropped the shoes off himself.” Now I was on my computer working but looked up to see the shoes. I’m ashamed to say that last year I would have put the shoes under my desk for another time to review them and kept working. But, this year I have slowed down so… I immediately put the shoes on. “Sai, is he still here. Bring him upstairs. I want to meet him.” She managed to catch him before he left. He came up, I gave some feedback on the beautiful kicks, and we took this picture. We miss too many beautiful moments by being too busy! Thank you @dabaraoha for stopping by and congratulations on the launch of your new sneaker brand @nedu.co! I went to the office in black boots but walked out with these dope kicks from @nedu.co.
