“Green Box Daze”…
How being an “old soul” is really survival, not wisdom.
A reclaiming of the loud, soft, curious parts that got boxed away too soon.
Healing looks like letting that childishness breathe again.

My first main stage work in college was more than successful! So, first I would like to thank everyone who let me talk their ear off about this piece from January until hit the stage loll…
To my mentor & voice actress @lenelle.ann thank you soooo much for cutting my music a thousand times and brining my poem to life!
And lastly to my beautiful cast/friends, thank you all for trusting me and dancing this piece with so much care! Love you all so much! 🤎

Asé: The Calling made its Milwaukee premiere at (W)hereFest last week. This work was born in a moment of uncertainty when I questioned my path, my purpose, and if dance was truly for me. Through the voices of my community, the unwavering love of my family, and the calling God placed on my life, I was reminded: this is where I’m meant to be.

In this piece, I am guided by four ancestral spirits pulling me back, realigning me, and reminding me who I am.

im glad throughout everything i was faced with this year & the emotional roller coaster that came with it, i was still able to just be present in moments that mattered most to me. Also, be apart of every nostalgic feeling of performing again, to be around the people that supported me in so many ways, i am so blessed for my community & my friends that i call family 🫂! #ending2025strongerthanever!

Come out with your hands up, The Thin Veil, Issa Bop

Second post because performance season!
Repertory Performance Workshop: how much I have to say about this class. The way this course worked was exactly how I was trained, felt extremely nostalgic. Three hours a day, three times a week, blood, tears, sweat, rewinding the song hundreds of times. I love the arts, i love my fellow dancers, and I love my professors with their never ending passion and knowledge. Thank you for your patience. 5/8 Semesters done, thank you Fall 2025.

ONE WEEK AWAY!

The Unmasking is a work in progress that takes a journey into the mind of choreographer Prince Adrean as he explores the ideas of self-identity and assimilation through the themes of Masking and Performance.

Performance in how we present ourselves to our loved ones, our peers, and those we respect most.
Who are we? What do we see when we look in the mirror?
And why do we choose to perform the best versions of ourselves?

🗓️ November 6–7 | 7:30 PM
🎭 The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago
