ANNOUNCING our first Songs & Snaps judge!
@regiangelou is a power house multi-hyphenate and one of the most unique creators and wordsmiths the city has ever seen.
She will be a very real judge at our very fake poetry slam..

In many scenes,
the musicians don’t hang with the poets
the poets don’t hang with the dancers
the dancers don’t hang with the painters..
..we could go on.
In THIS space you’re not obligated to do anything but be the cool mf you are in a space with a ton of cool mf’s with the common goal of healing through laughter and fun.

Bring your song lyrics!
Regi will bring her thinking cap and elitely score your poetic renderings..

Infuse your food and bevs if you’d like 😏

Til then, cop your free RSVP to this Black, woman, queer, Caribbean owned cannabis lounge in Bushwick and let’s make it make sense!

To be impressed..

We are ONE WEEK OUT from SINTAX! 🔥

Six poets. Four original artworks. One night of art translated into poetry — live.

This lineup is stacked, and I’m so excited to see what these poets do with the work they’ve been given. If you’ve been to SINTAX before, you know. If you haven’t, this is the one to come see what we’re about.

SINTAX is donation-based, with all donations going directly to the poets. Come support local art, local poetry, and the people who make this creative community what it is.

And please spread the word! Share this post, send it to your poetry friends, your art friends, your “what are we doing Monday night?” friends. Let’s pack Barter. 🖤

📅 Monday, October 12

🏆🎙️ TWO 2026 LVBMA WINNERS. ONE SPECIAL SHOW! 🎙️🏆
This Wednesday on the Las Vegas Black Music Awards Hour, host Kris Freeman sits down with two incredible award-winning poets:
✨ Vibe The Poet
🏆 2026 Best Poet of the Year – Non-Performance
✨ Nise
🏆 2026 Best Poet of the Year – Performance
Two categories. Two unique artistic expressions. Two deserving champions. 👏🏾🔥

The Performance and Non-Performance categories were created to recognize both sides of poetic excellence — the strength of the written word and the dynamic artistry of live spoken-word performance.

Now we're bringing both winners together for Week 48 to celebrate their victories, their journeys, and the voices behind the poetry.
