A new chapter for water reuse in Chennai. 💧

At @siv_impact_inc Impact, we’re turning sewage into a resource through a compact, modular water reclamation project that treats 1 MLD every day, funded by Amazon and delivered in partnership with the Tamil Nadu government.

This pioneering public-private partnership shows how thoughtfully designed water infrastructure can fit into limited urban space and make a meaningful difference in a water-stressed city.

To picture the scale: 1 MLD is 1 million litres of reclaimed water every day—enough to fill about 146 Olympic-sized swimming pools over the course of a year.

That’s 365 million litres of reclaimed water annually—creating a powerful opportunity to reduce pressure on precious freshwater reserves.

We’re proud to help Chennai build a future where water is valued, recovered and used again.

We’re proud to share that SIV Impact is now a Certified @bcorporation ™.

For us, this certification is more than a milestone. It reflects how we believe business should operate: creating value for people, communities, and the planet, while holding ourselves accountable to high standards of social and environmental performance.
At SIV Impact, Nature is our Business.™ We work at the intersection of business and nature, advancing solutions in water stewardship, biodiversity, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable supply chains.

Becoming B Corp Certified strengthens our commitment to building a company where impact is not separate from business. It is part of how we do business.

We are thankful to our team, partners, clients, and communities who continue to be part of this journey.
Business can be a force for good. And we are just getting started.

Rethinking the water cycle, one community at a time.💧

Our latest nature-based solutions project across 15 government girls’ schools in Chennai, India, is officially underway!

We were incredibly honored to have the initiative recently inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for Education in Tamil Nadu, with phase 1 of 5 completion slated for September 15th and 10 schools by 15th Dec 2026.

Designed by our US team at SIV Impact Inc and implemented on the ground by our dedicated NGO partners, this project is transforming environments and empowering communities.

With funding from Microsoft we are addressing resource dependency by: Creating lush, vibrant green spaces for students to thrive. Building systems to recycle black and grey water to drinking-water standards for safe, non-potable use. Enhancing the daily lives and environments of over 50,000 girls and their surrounding communities.

The Scale of Impact: 💧 50 Million gallons of water recycled every single year. 🌊 250 Million gallons over the next 5 years.

To put that 5-year scale into perspective, 250 million gallons is nearly 1 Billion liters of water—enough to fill almost 380 Olympic-sized swimming pools!

We aren’t just saving water for today; we are creating a resilient, long-term infrastructure to solve long-term water challenges for generations of young Indians to come.
