“Choir of the Invisible” is my latest installation for the exhibition “After Evidence”, the result of a workshop made with @erik.kessels in collaboration with @musa_labanof coordinated by @fishbbay @ied_milano

Concept
“Choir of the Invisible” reframes forensic imagery through a visual and sonic metaphor in which radiographic materials become vessels of deferred communication. Each transparent bottle-holding the rolled radiograph of an unidentified individual, functions like a message cast adrift: a fragile attempt at presence entrusted to chance, awaiting someone willing to receive and interpret it. Throughout the installation, the bottles form a dispersed constellation of quiet voices. Their sounds, recorded testimonies, blend into a single, low murmur: an auditory fog in which memories overlap and dissolve into one another, perceptible more as atmosphere than as language. Clarity arises only through proximity: leaning in and offering attention to a specific bottle allows a distinct testimony to surface. Listening becomes an intimate gesture, a way of momentarily holding one life apart from the indistinct chorus of loss.
A glass enclosure functions as a threshold. Seen from afar, it evokes the detached clarity of observation; once crossed, it shifts the encounter into a space where remembrance becomes embodied, almost tender-where each trace can be met only through deliberate, attentive approach.
Rather than resolving identities, the work lingers in the delicate space where anonymity and individuality brush against one another. It reflects on the difficulty and the human necessity-of restoring voice to those who remain unheard. It suggests that the act of acknowledging presence, of listening and interpreting, unfolds not solely within the responsibilities of an archive, but through the choices of those who approach these messages and allow a single voice to rise from the undifferentiated hum.

lasciami la noia fuori questa notte. ansia? come al solito mi sembra di aver dimenticato qualcosa. verrò capito? sarà di loro gradimento? magari mi sono sopravvalutato? magari ho dato per scontato cose..

non ho punti fermi, ma solo di domanda.

eppure con il tempo sto capendo che infondo adoro mettermi in difficoltà quasi quanto amo sentire l’acqua alla gola.
