Independent magazines influence whose perspectives enter cultural conversations and which stories receive attention. At Vivência Summit in São Paulo, Brazil, Laura Mansur and Marcos Mendonça (The Hidden Mag), Negrotti (Untapped Mag), and moderators Alexandre Félix (Mob) and Vinicius Sato (Pelos Acesso Podcast) explored independent cultural journalism. What distinguishes independent media isn't just who they feature, but the editorial perspective behind each choice. The choices of @lauramansur, @iammarcosmendonca and @negrotti_ , alongside conversations led by @sneakersmobproject and @viniciussato_ , reveal different experiences of Brazilian culture without reducing them to a single scene. Editorial influence isn't measured only by audience size. It also depends on what editors choose to highlight. For @thehiddenmag and @untapped.mag , credibility can broaden cultural attention rather than reinforce existing hierarchies. A publication brings creative disciplines together, allowing professionals to exchange references and develop their practices. The processes behind @thehiddenmag and @untapped.mag reveal another role of independent media: generating creative work, not just documenting it. A magazine feature doesn't guarantee a breakthrough. But independent editorial recognition can change how others perceive someone's work. For @negrotti_ and @iammarcosmendonca, these moments show how editorial trust can open doors beyond audience metrics. Brand partnerships involve more than funding. Editorial autonomy determines whether commercial support strengthens or dilutes a publication's identity. The experiences of @lauramansur , @iammarcosmendonca and @negrotti_ suggest creative alignment matters as much as commercial opportunity. Publishing also means deciding what deserves to remain accessible after the initial attention fades. The Hidden’s editions and Untapped’s plans for print suggest how independent publishing can preserve cultural memory beyond social feeds. An editorial identity can inspire other cultural activities when its original people and ideas remain central. Moderated by @sneakersmobproject and @viniciussato_ of @pelosacessopodcast , the d
