“Allow me to reintroduce myself…”

I’m a writer, director, storytelle and poet. Also, I founded and lead @artprevailsproject , a performing and literary arts organization.

The amazing @greed2014 pictures are from my latest play, Yesterday and Tomorrow.

Did you see it? Let me know what you think.

If you missed it, you should certainly tap in and be in the building for the next one.

I create work that’s relevant and reflective, not mention dope. Like…amazing.

Come holla at me and my peeps!

Good evening, Family I would like to thank all of you who came out exercising your right to be outraged. For those of you who came in opposition to the inconceivable loop of inexplicable madness with which we find ourselves inextricably entangled. Those of you who protested by buying tickets to the show “YESTERDAY and Tomorrow, to those of you who protested through dance and a blessed, breathtaking, plethora of creative expressions. Acting Art Music Dance are our weapons of choice. The stage is our pulpit. We bleed both in laughter and tears in both the joy and agony of unchoreographed every day human existence until our feet are blistered and our legs give out. Your support is like an arm that catches us. When we show up in community. We are trees that bend and lean on one another, our roots, running deep. An invisible Nexus of ever increasing strength. When we come together, even if we fall, we never fail. We are the pride, the hope the indomitable and unconquerable Spirit Ever looking heaven-word Ever on our lips a story to Tell. Amidst the rubble, rising from the ashes, always Art Prevails. #blackimprov #Stageplays #browardcenter #Ftlauderdale #Miami #Thingstodoinmiami

Tech week requires a whole lot of work and focus. It gives us the opportunity to work out kinks, figuring out lighting and sound, adjust spacing. Whew, the list goes on! It can also be the perfect time for bonds to be strengthened and there’s always room for “play”!

Got tickets for Yesterday and Tomorrow??
Which show?

If the sun grew flowers they would glow like you
adding shine to every heart that can’t remember the last time they were lit up
A presence like a wind in every room they’re in

If the sun grew flowers they would sing like you
Reaching deep into every soul that’s blessed to hear the voice
A sound like pure creation when expressed in words

If the sun grew flowers they would dance like you
Freeing the body to wiggle and move, embodying your objective to the fullest
A freedom few get to know in this life

If the sun grew flowers they would laugh like you
Leaving anyone around with no choice but to join in the revelry
A sincere joy that rumbles through the being

If the sun grew flowers they would dress like you
Draping themselves in art and vibrant colors, highlighting all their best features
An invitation to play dress up too

If the sun grew a flower for every life you are still impacting, it would be covered twice over
You will never stop being loved, sunflower 🌻

Two men. Two very different journeys. One unforgettable story.

✨ Meet Harpo & Mister of *The Color Purple* ✨

At the center of this powerful story are two complex, deeply human characters—each navigating love, power, pain, and transformation in their own way.

Mister is commanding, guarded, and shaped by generations before him… but his journey may surprise you.
Harpo, on the other hand, brings heart, humor, and a desire to love differently—even when he’s still figuring out what that means.

Together, their stories challenge us, frustrate us, and ultimately remind us that growth is possible—even in the most complicated places.

These two are brought to life by incredibly talented artists who are ready to take you on a journey you won’t forget.

🗓 June 20–28
📍 Pompano Beach Cultural Center
Tickets - brevotheatre.org

Trust us… you’ll be talking about these performances long after the curtain falls.
