Happy on the Hill on such a beautiful Saturday afternoon yesterday. Three strong men, a piano to be moved. Rag of Colts belts and phone cases in action - not a set up - just photographed because seeing things I have made, worn and used and loved is the best feeling 🌿

On this New years Eve, we wish to give thanks for this incredible man- Sir Tim Brighouse who has died on December 15th. He became a great champion for the programme Learning to Lead, now called www.learntolead.org.uk that
Neil and I developed for over 15 years along side the most amazing young people, teachers, entrepreneurs, advisors, county councils, community and special needs workers. The way Sir Tim Brighouse here captures Ltol’s deepest intention and hoped for outcomes in this one sentence is a demonstration of his laser like
perceptiveness and genius powers of communication.
Stephen Bate’s obituary in the Guardian said: “It is given to very few senior education officials to be both universally respected and admired by teachers, but Tim Brighouse, who has died aged 83, was one of that rare breed. He did it not only by respecting the profession and encouraging its members, but also by showing them pragmatically how their lessons and thus their schools could be- and were improved, without the threats and coercion offered by successive secretaries of state”. Tim was all about “being human” and he inspired; built relationships and community and acted with kindness, humour and trust a lifetime away from the nonsensical and dangerous Ofsted practices that dominate the lives of our state schools at present and eradicate the few chances our young people have to do more than work for their exam results and curriculum demands. Now to our horror we are seeing even the physical structures of the schools we have worked in - disintegrating,
The Blue School in Wells, where we began and developed Ltol being the latest casualty. Would that we could move away from a political system where our children and young people are the pawns in an election gaming strategy to be governed by ill equipped politicians - instead of the likes of Sir Tim! All the principles that guided our previous work are just the same now, (but much easier to share!) offering nurture and space for our guests to find themselves through rest, fun, inspiration, one another, nature, dogs! peace, beauty, love and tranquility. We so look forward to seeing you in 2024!!
🌟👏🌳🐝🙏🎂🍾🥂🫶♥️🕊️
