Lauantaina Kallio Block Party valtaa jälleen itäisen kantakaupungin kadut. Bar tÿpo toimii kotina kaksillekin virallisille jatkoille!

Iloksemme houstaamme peräti kahdet jatkot lauantaina, joten on mistä valita: Baarin puolella koko illan UK-inspiroituneita rytmejä housesta garageen, teknosta post-dubstepiin ja muuta modernia klubimusaa. ✨

We have a free party going on. In an age of rising costs, we wanted to go the opposite way: a night where admission is free and the music is free-flowing, for the entire night. The skillful play-masters Cimac Sound, Nettles and Ojelma cradle the Bar’s dancing quarters this Friday. The free spirit is full of broken rhythms and tight beats with highly defined cascades, while the techno does the talking. The entry is free, sans sec fee (let’s keep the bouncers happy, shall we). The world would have you to believe one can’t get good for cheap, but luckily this is the best. Fri: Free Party - Cimac Sound, Nettles, Ojelma

The last World Canvas release of 2025 Introducing on World Canvas: Nettles - MALIBU. The debut album of Helsinki-based producer and cross-media artist Nooa Paukkunen. Interspersed with varied electronic instrumentation, voice memos and field recordings, Nettles’s debut album carries a sense of intimacy throughout its seven songs. The minimalist compositions give room for sonic ideas to grow beyond what’s laid out on the surface to something larger - an assemblage of synthezised and cracks between private and resonant. Produced and mixed by Nooa Paukkunen Text & Spoken word on 65RDMV by Hara Hermunen Mastered by Nori Kin Cover artwork by Hertta Kella Lastly, I'd like to thank everyone involved with World Canvas over the course of the past year. Artists, listeners and friends far and near and anyone who has found emotional resonance through the label's releases. I couldn't be more humbled by the attention World Canvas has received during its existence and thoroughly looking forward to what year 2026 will have to offer. As always, stay tuned for more releases and announcements (and very likely also events) in the upcoming year. with <3, J / World Canvas

Lauryl Sulfate is a foaming agent commonly used in cosmetics and cleaning products. It irritates the eyes, mouth and respiratory ways. When consumed orally, it weakens the taste receptors for sweetness. The exhibition title acts as a theoretical starting point for the artists’ work. The artworks combine traditional and contemporary techniques, merging sculpture, painting, moving images, sound art, and various methods of printmaking into a whole within the space. Helsinki tomorrow! Organizing organic celebration of common sound cooking between Finland and Slovakia! 🥨 KIPPIS KOKEILU: Climara Forte + Semot Semot Posa + Ján Števuliak + Richard Hronský + u.n.o 17. November 2025, 18:00 (doors) Toinen Kerros (Äänen Lumo) Nokiantie 2-4, 00510 Helsinki Voluntary entrance/donation “If people never experimented, we’d still be sitting in the cold, not warming ourselves by the fire.” The idea of celebrating improvisation sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? Well, we’ve decided to make one of our own. Ours is a mix as colorful and unpredictable as a stew made from the leftovers of different musical kitchens - or a home-brewed, unfiltered heavy beer with a hint of something synthetic. Still, the natural color and flavor of it all won’t be lost. With a broad lineup of young musicians stretching between Finland and Slovakia, between classical and experimental music, professionalism and pure amateur joy - across all the bright frequencies of sound and instrument combinations - we’ll cook up a real goulash of sound. Care to come and have a taste? • Climara Forte @ruusuaura + @ignataelana (drumbrute impact, computer, Digitone, volca keys and fx wizard - footwork) • Semot Semot Posa @sinneminne + @oioi___io (laptop, korg synth, some guitar pedals, analogue mixers, guitar, violin, voice) • @jano.stev (wind instruments - clarinet, 2 shawm pipes, organ pipes, computer - pre-recorded material, live processing) • @hronskyy (fujara, computer - ambient, post-folk, field recordings) • u.n.o. @untamossa + @0scarmack + @nejpau (bird flute, xylophone, harmonica, sampler, synthesizer)
