Back in August, a beautiful day brought a host of keen enthusiasts to the farm to share our passion for Soil. We are grateful to our friends at @consciousplanet, who joined us as we immersed our hands in the earth, learned so much from each other, and had great fun creating artworks from materials found around the farm.
⭐ The star of the day, of course, was the rich, healthy soil lovingly nurtured by the team at Zerodig.

Community is at the heart of the work we do here at chilli! 🌶️

Our goal is to make it easier for you to mobilise your community into taking action in the social justice and climate space.

Last night was a moment for just that — community! We got together a group of some of our favourite impact creators for a time to just connect, chat and eat together, because climate action needs groups of people who are connected, who know who to ask about which strategies worked for them in the past, how to approach a new audience and ultimately how to move the needle on the vital social justice and climate issues we work on 🫶

A few highlights from the second half of my @cop30nobrasil experience representing @aceerfoundation 🌿

Day 3 began with a powerful session at @copreshub on community and Indigenous-led climate action, where Edson Krenak and Thalía Carroll-Cachimuel spoke about what justice means in practice: that demarcated land alone is not enough without schools, healthcare, financial access and real tools to face climate change. Later that morning I prepared for a WFF panel, and in the afternoon I joined the @muyunafest @climateliveglobal talk led by Daniel Martínez-Quintanilla and Livia Silvano. I loved learning about their work in the Peruvian Amazon, where communities tell their own stories through community filmmaking. I ended the day hearing Princess Esmeralda of Belgium speak about the contradiction of trying to “protect” the forest while continuing to extract oil ✨

Day 4’s highlight was the @unclimatechange @unuehs Capacity-Building Academy session on Nature-based Solutions. I shared NbS examples from @aceerfoundation work in the Peruvian Amazon, and learned from participants from around the world. A small fire later caused an evacuation, and thankfully everyone was safe. I closed the day at Estaçao das Docas watching a Carimbó festival, a joyful celebration of Pará’s cultural heritage 💛

My last day began with the Jesuits for Climate Justice event, where Roberto Jaramillo SJ reminded us that climate decisions must center human dignity rather than financial gain, and about the role of religious communities in addressing climate injustice. I explored the Green Zone, attended a session at @mcti Casa da Ciência, and joined the People’s Plenary, where testimonies from young activists were deeply moving. Mustafa’s words from Gaza, translated by Zahra, were especially powerful. It was a clear reminder that climate justice, human rights and peace are all connected 🌎

These days were full of learning, connection and reflection. As I write this, COP30 delegates have been meeting for 6+ hours to reach agreements for our shared future - which I truly hope will be carried forward with honesty and commitment 💚

A week and a half ago I had the opportunity to speak at a @world_food_forum panel at @cop30nobrasil , representing the WFF Educators Network 🌿 It was a beautiful space to highlight the work that educators, youth and community leaders are carrying out across our region to strengthen climate action through education ✨

We shared five key recommendations for COP30: integrating agrifood systems into school curricula, ensuring youth, women, Indigenous Peoples and persons with disabilities are meaningfully included in decision-making, strengthening educator networks, guaranteeing funding and infrastructure for schools and community projects, and fostering multisectoral partnerships across education, health, agriculture and civil society. I shared the panel with Karly Ip, Ana Carolina Zimmermann and Nela Cadiñanos, with a thoughtful moderation by María José Cervantes 🤍

These recommendations come directly from classrooms, community projects and lived experiences across Latin America and the Caribbean. It was an honor to bring those voices to the Children and Youth Pavilion and to advocate for the role of education as a driver of just, inclusive and resilient climate solutions.
