Success in school begins with showing up.
How can you show up if you are not equipped for it?
Our mission is to make access to education possible for orphaned and other vulnerable children, by providing them with academic scholarships including funds for tuition, school supplies, books, and other needed basic necessities.

This beautiful child is now able to attend school, thanks to beautiful souls like you! Thank you!
His attendance will shape his academic journey.

We know he will have a great school year.

SPEAK to CHILDREN ABOUT READING

Introducing SCAR, Orphancared’s new program.

If you’ve been following us, you already know that our main investments are centered around Education and Health. We firmly believe that in order to succeed in life, children need to thrive in those two aspects. We focus on orphans and other vulnerable children with limited to zero access to education, also on young and struggling mothers and their unborn/newborn babies.

SCAR - Speak to Children about Reading - is our summer reading program, with intense all-year round efforts to collect books 📚 and build reading spaces for children.

Why is Reading important?
📕 It develops children’s minds and gives them indispensable knowledge and lessons of life.
📖 It helps them understand the world around them better.
📚 It keeps their mind active and enhances their creative ability.
📕 It improves their vocabulary and develops their communication skills.
📖 It is a lifelong skill that improves memory, builds a robust vocabulary and foundation of knowledge, and adds a richness and depth of meaning to life.

Although Reading has always been part of our HOPE program, It’s time to put a great emphasis on its development as a program of its own.

Why SCAR?
A good book leaves an eternal positive scar on our mind, especially when the story has touched our soul. A good Read is a trip to the unknown, that feeds our souls and warms our hearts, when the choice of the book is intentional.
Our goal is to put a great amount of effort into carefully selecting books that will inspire, encourage, motivate and empower the children under our care, leaving them with hope, excitement, and happy dreams about their future.

Leave a message in the comments if you have new or gently used books (preferably in French) to donate, good reads suggestions, or are willing to donate towards the purchase of new books for our children. We will gladly contact you for more information. Thank you!

I secretly prayed for a boy, but God gifted me an angel. He is my second motherhood story. His gentle manners, his calm, his love and kindness, his maturity and patience are treasures I’ll cherish forever. His name is William @williambollanga . Love him bunches. 🩵💙
Bonne fête à toutes les mamans 💕🌸
