The pandemic, compounded by the Russian attack on Ukraine, has caused a collective confrontation with mortality and loss unlike anything in recent history. This group exhibition addresses the entirety of the life cycle and delves into the promise of the everlasting.

In 2017, I won the Xavier Gonzalez and Ethel Edwards Travel Grant at the Art Students League, that allowed me to visit Spain #espana🇪🇸 for 4 months. Solo travel, art residencies, introspection, heART connections with so many people that I met during those four months and beyond. Life has not been the same ever since, in a good way!! And I am forever grateful for this opportunity.

The competition was judged by Tom L. Freudenheim and Morton Kaish.

Tom L. Freudenheim is an art historian who has served as the director of several museums, as Assistant Secretary for museums at the Smithsonian Institutions, and as director of the museum program at the National Endowment for the Arts.

Morton Kaish is an artist whose work integrates the abstract and the figurative. Kaish's paintings and prints have been exhibited by and included in the collections of major national and international museums, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the British Museum, among others. @mortonkaish

I am pleased to invite you to the Grant Winners' Exhibition which showcases the recent work of twenty-four artists including me, who earned prestigious grants in 2017 and 2018.

Exhibition Opening Reception, Thursday October 10th, 6:00PM to 8:00PM

The exhibition will be up through October 23. .
