POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In this week of volunteering at IHP 🐴❤️‍🩹 (in English version 🇬🇧) the love of horses has brought some spectacular people into my life. Especially Talya and Martina! We are like 3 sisters! Eva and Nelson a beautiful couple of super sweet Berlin guys! Marco with his life stories and his super English. And then obviously there is Sonny, the heart of this entire incredible world to whom we owe the biggest thanks for bringing us together! Parts of the world have come together in a remote place among the Tuscan hills. We promised ourselves that in a year we will all do it again together and I hope to be able to visit Talya (i love so much her, my teenager… our Bambi🦌🥺!) in Tel Aviv very soon, hopefully within a year! It's incredible how in a week se have grown to love eachother in a incredibly sincere way!
Thank you for bringing me back to life and for the huge laughs! I love you!

As for the horses... in my heart they are all special, divine beings... but those who will remain in my heart the most are Azzurra, Nuvola, the mule Bardo and in a special way Hot Topsail; she certainly represents me more than anyone. See you soon my hearts.

Thank you IHP, for all!

How to design our farm to optimally regenerate the ecosystem that we are part of?

Answering that question has taken a lot of research, educating ourselves and being guided by incredible people and partners. Here you see our friend and mentor Oliver giving feedback on the design made by the students of our first course 👨🏽‍🎓

10 incredible students worked in teams to analyze the soil, interview us as consultants and worked on a holistic design that meets our objectives, vision and mission. Oliver was very positive about the design and now we are working together with the Pioneers Program of @climatefarmers to further fine tune the design and business plan. More on that later 🤓

Abundance is the opposite of scarcity, which occurs both in nature and our minds. Nature works on the principles of producing an abundance for all life on earth to thrive as a collective ecosystem, not with limited amount of resources where you will have less if your neighbour has more 🍰

During our Regenerative Agroforestry & Ecosystem Restoration Course, Oliver taught us how one tree can give us limitless amount of trees, for free. Not just by the seeds their fruits produce, but also by propagating the cuttings or to stimulate new roots to grow on existing branches. With the amount of trees we are hoping to plant in the coming years, we cannot wait to apply our learning on a bigger scale 🌳🌴🌲

For now, we already planted the first Níspero / Japanese plum / Eriobotrya japonica tree from seed in June, an incredible sweet to subacid juicy fruit that we see thriving in many villages around us. Let's see how it is going to survive the hot & dry summer 🤞🏽

Veggie beds! This is the first year we are ever growing our own veggies and it is a fun and steep learning curve. It’s a lot easier than we could imagine, but during the course we learned a couple of easy tricks that made it easier for the veggies to grow 🌱

On this little patch we already see differences in how well veggies were growing, where the lanes most exposed to sun are doing the worst ☀️

By adding a thick layer of compost the first time, next years we can add a lot less. The cardboard is to stop growing weeds, and worms seem to love the carbon! 🐛

Guided by Oliver @regenerative_skills, learned together with an amazing group of students 💚🙏🏽

Dry Compost Toilet! With 10 people attending the course we had to put the right facilities together. We were so thankful to have @nelson__bell joining us a few days before the course started. And look at the amazing compost toilet he made! Thank you again Nelson!
Follow Nelson’s journey : along with his family he just bought 35 hectares of land to regenerate in the Algarve region of Portugal!

Our very first Apricot harvest!

Right before the beginning of the course, when we started to be a little anxious… the 150 apricots trees of the farm were fully ready to be harvested.. It was not really planned (so soon) but we took it as a sign of abundance and help for the course! Apricots week it was! In that way we’ve got some precious help to harvest and we enjoyed apricots in all shapes and forms : Dried apricots, apricot jam, cherry apricots jam, sweet chilly apricots sauce, apricots nicecream……. And the list goes on and on!

Our aim is that next year we have the team, techniques and facilities to transform it into nice products that we will be able to share with you 😍

Do you like apricots? Whats your favorite way to eat it?

What is more fun than learning and growing? Growing together!! 🚀

Because with every challenging moment a beautiful one happened... A couple of months ago we were sharing our goals for the coming months and year.
One crazy goal was to host our first course at the farm... Well, it just happened!! 🎉

The past months we have been extremely busy preparing the very first course on Regenerative Agroforestry & Ecosystem Restoration at the farm. 👩🏽‍🌾 👨🏽‍🌾

After chats with Oliver from @regenerative_skills we decided to go all in and prepare the farm to host a small group of passionate and like minded people to learn together. Without having any facilities, or experience, we just went for it. We could have never done it without the support of Oliver, Carlo’s parents @andre.steensma & @mindyourfeet, @talithakostwinder, @vajordi and all the amazing students 💚

The coming weeks we will take you on our journey on how we came to this fun moment, posing in front of our first Syntropic bed 🌱🌴

Hey!
This is the artwork I made for @nelson__bell to go with his debut album thats out on Drosssel.
You can buy that here: bit.ly/ReveriesCamp

And because it‘s bandcamp friday again today, all the proceeds go directly to @drosssel.musik so they can pay more money to Nelson and everybody is happy in the end, you know?

The album is easily my favourite one this year, even though so many beautiful albums came out in these weird ~300 days.

PS: The pictures I worked with were taken by Nelson himself, because he is not only a talented musician, but also a talented photographer. ❤️
