I picked up a 50mm f/1.8 lens the other day, so I’ve been wandering around, trying to get some practice in with it. I’ve been having a lot of fun playing around in low-light situations and trying to find the balance between ALL THE BOKEH and just the right amount.
Callie and Toni have been such good sports!

We are so proud of our limited-edition series crafted in partnership with a KC favorite of ours, The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. We’ve curated four custom blends, all pulling inspiration from well-known artists and paintings. Try them all, then go see their beauty in person at the @nelsonatkins!

The Nelson-Atkins Blend is a full bodied coffee with notes of dark cherry, dark chocolate and a floral finish. Originally inspired by the Guanyin of the Southern Sea, Chinese, 11th/12th century, Liao (907-1125) or Jin Dynasty (1115-1234), which is one of the most well recognized pieces in the museum. This is a piece of the larger and impressive Chinese art collections at The Nelson, which is one of the finest collections in the West with more than 7,000 works from every phase of China’s artistic activity. This work influenced and inspired this original blend collaboration between The Roasterie and The Nelson Atkins, which is served exclusively at the Rozelle Court Restaurant.

The Wilderness Blend is inspired by Caravaggio’s Saint John the Baptist in the Wilderness, a bold and iconic painting that captures the viewer’s attention with drama and intrigue. This robust coffee has notes of brown spice, dark chocolate and peanut butter while finishing with a hint of orange blossom.

The Lily Blend is a smooth, nuanced coffee blend inviting a sense of peace and tranquility, much like the painting that inspired it. When Claude Monet began working on Water Lilies in 1915, he did so in the moments of destruction and chaos that accompanied World War I. Instead of giving in to the oppression around him, Monet chose to paint a lush portion of his garden that signified life, observing the shifting shadows, shapes and colors around him. The Lily Blend summons sensory memories to provide a refuge of calm meditation. Paired with the creamy, raspberry-infused milk chocolate batons crafted by André’s, it becomes an artfully inspired respite from a hectic day.

The Rispal Blend is inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Restaurant Rispal at Asnières, a masterpiece that captures the artist’s evolution, understanding, and application of pure, brilliant color. When brewed, this coffee blend combines

A chic museum wedding in Kansas City 🤍💐 shot by our talented friend @kaleyfromkansas !!!

The wedding day was filled with family heritage, elevated design, and fashion. Inspired by their roots and shared Chinese heritage, every detail was intentional ✨

Married in the bride’s hometown, native flowers from Kansas and Australia (where the groom grew up!) complemented traditional Chinese wedding motifs, including magpies & double happiness symbols. Chinese takeout-inspired favor boxes and chopsticks added a playful nod to their heritage, while classic Western wedding elements tied everything together. Obsessed !!!

This past weekend, almost 9,000 people woke up early, laced up their running shoes, and turned the streets of Kansas City into their personal track.
As always, I was chasing my runner (@aconn48) around the course, snapping photos where I could.

Congratulations, @kcmarathon runners!
