4 years ago, I was DM’d on Instagram by a Young Life leader asking if I wanted to come to summer camp. At that time, I was lost, lonely, hopeless, and felt unloved by the world. I struggled with how I was perceived by people, put my full value in what others thought of me, and believed that my life didn’t have purpose. It honestly confused me (partially because some random old guy I barely knew was DMing me) how someone I met twice was being so intentional and wanted me to go to camp.

I decided to go, knowing absolutely zero about the camp. Turned out to be the best week of my life.

There I learned about God in a way that I had never heard before; someone who sees, knows, and loves me more than I can ever imagine. I remember the comfort I felt hearing just how much He cares about my life - such a lifesaving and life-changing love.

Leaving camp, I began to dedicate my life to Christ.

Saying yes to that DM was the best decision I have ever made in my entire life.

I found the friends I thought id never have, know my identity in Christ, learned my life has meaning & have never felt more loved and fulfilled.

This past week, I had the privilege of leading campers at that same camp, Lake Champion.

My heart is so full and thankful for this opportunity the Lord has given me to pour back into the same thing that saved my life. It was an amazing week where I got to be alongside my friends, leading and showing campers the radical love of Christ.

One more shout out to this group of Seniors as they close another chapter of their lives today. These men are walking across the stage at graduation. Between all of their accomplishments on & off the field… from scholarships, GPA, awards, school records, playoff appearances, playoff victories to a District Championship and Regional Final …saying we are proud of them is an understatement.

Each of them will take different paths but the bonds will keep them together for a lifetime. They created memories that will always be remembered. There is no doubt this group will be successful in life. Congratulations to the class of 2026 ! Of course you are always welcome back ! #Viking4Life #VikingFamily #VikingStrong #classof2026🎓
