Buzzing after the most wonderful day in @creativefstone for @hollytucker’s Shop Independent Day Launch 🛍️ Re-charged my founder’s battery and met some lovely small business owners in the amazing Folkestone Creative Quarter. Highly highly recommend a visit to this gem on the Kent Coast if you’ve never been. ☀️🏖️🌈💖
Remember to support SHOP INDEPENDENT DAY which is 24th June… a little reminder 6 months before Christmas that shopping small is *not just for Christmas* 😘 For so many small businesses in this current climate if you don’t use us you may lose us… Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has and continues to support my small business dream 💜🫶🏾💖

Summer vibes mean the more the merrier when it comes to colour. More is more even if it’s for a summer walk in the park! Love creating custom colour combinations like these necklaces perfect for layering up - all handcrafted with heart from ethically sourced genuine gemstones and precious metals 🫶🏾

Someone’s a bit pooped after all the CAVAnation celebrations this last week! 🐶🫶🏾🇬🇧🥂🐾 Hit so many of my MILOstones and making slow but steady progress towards the live I should always have lived.. Not sure what @milocentric plonking himself on top of this newspaper means - shame I wasn’t camera ready when he was whacking it with his paw 🤣 Regal AF.

Fluffy hair, don’t care 🤷🏾‍♀️ ( It’s the HUMIDITY!!!🤣 )

Starting the day with inspiration in aligning my business goals going forward - at great event by @making_the_leap @uksocialmobilityawards at @royalsocietyofmedicine 💜

Not many people know this but Black Lotus London was founded with bigger goals and aspirations than me being a Solopreneur and Designer-Maker. My dream is to create a product based business that can contribute to society and causes close to my heart. A core part of this is to ( eventually ) provide employment opportunities to people from diverse backgrounds and who have traditionally experienced barriers to employment.

In my previous educational background and career path in research psychology and NHS mental health services I saw clearly how peoples pathways to “success” can be shaped by their early experiences, current life circumstances and socioeconomic backgrounds.

I’m passionate about giving opportunities to those who may have given up on their dreams - or thought dreaming was pointless for them because of their circumstances. For me this is primarily women, ethnic minorities, people with learning or physical disabilities or those who have experienced mental health struggles.

As I hopefully enter the next phase of growth and scaling this year and beyond I’m getting super intentional with the direction I take the business in and keeping this core goal front and centre! We rise by lifting others - community and collaboration over competition 🫶🏾

LapDOGS not Laptops! 💪🏾🐶🐾 The Milo-Manifesto… but one he gets away with, as it took him ~ 3 years to feel able and confident to approach for a cuddle on my lap 😔 I don’t know what traumas@he had in his life before rescue but the thought breaks my heart sometimes…
