🏆 TODAY AT NEOCITY ACADEMY: OSCEOLA COUNTY STUDENT CELEBRATED AFTER EARNING SECOND PLACE IN NATIONAL CIVICS BEE CHAMPIONSHIP! Today at NeoCity Academy in Kissimmee, Positively Osceola will be speaking with Araoluwakiitan Afolabi, his parents, Osceola School District Superintendent Dr. Mark Shanoff, NeoCity Academy Principal Yvette Ponzoa, and The Osceola Chamber President & CEO John Newstreet about an extraordinary achievement that has brought national recognition to Osceola County! Araoluwa, a freshman at NeoCity Academy and St. Cloud resident, recently earned second place in the 2026 National Civics Bee Championship in Washington, D.C., representing Florida and competing against 51 other students from across the nation. The national competition, held October 14 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters, challenged students on their knowledge of American government, democracy, civic responsibility, and community engagement. Araoluwa’s impressive journey began at The Osceola Chamber’s regional Civics Bee in April, where he placed third while attending Voyager K-8 School in St. Cloud. He went on to win the Florida State Civics Bee Championship in June, earning the opportunity to represent Florida on the national stage. His competition essay focused on raising awareness about human trafficking, demonstrating that his passion for civic engagement extends beyond the classroom and into making a positive difference in his community. 👏 Positively Osceola congratulates Araoluwa, his family, educators, the Osceola School District, and The Osceola Chamber on this remarkable accomplishment! 🎤 Stay connected with Positively Osceola as we share more from today’s special visit to NeoCity Academy and hear firsthand from Araoluwa and those who have supported his journey! #PositivelyOsceola #OsceolaCounty #NeoCityAcademy #NationalCivicsBee
