Money habits don’t always have to be grand. Sometimes it’s just an account change or knowing when & where to make payments that you were going to make anyways.

Another episode of Soft Life Finances ✔️

If you’re new here, my name is Lyn. Accounting & Finance grad, nearly a decade of corporate Finance & Accounting experience, and a lover of all things ‘sunshine and rainbows’🤸🏾‍♀️🥰☀️. I don’t believe the path to financial literacy needs to be mundane or traumatic & I’m constantly cheerleading the women to invest for themselves.

🚨 EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH NEO FINANCIAL! 😡💳

I honestly never expected this kind of experience from Neo Financial. Recently, I visited the Neo booth at Bramalea City Centre in Brampton with my brother, and the experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing.

The representative approached us and said the process would take only 10 minutes, but it ended up taking around 30 minutes. We clearly explained that we had an emergency at home and needed to leave, but we felt that our time and situation were not being respected.

The most concerning part was the handling of our personal information. The representative asked for our SIN number, and we clearly told her that we didn’t have it with us. Without asking for our permission, she went into her phone’s Notes app and searched for the SIN number. Seriously, Neo Financial, is this how you handle customers’ privacy? 🔒 When we raised our concerns, we felt like we weren’t being heard, even though we had already explained our situation.

On top of that, we were offered a $150 credit limit and told that we had to put $50 into it. That $50 was then used for Uber Eats, even though we don’t even use Uber Eats! Now we’re left wondering what we’re supposed to do with that $50 and why this option was presented to us in the first place.

Neo Financial, if you want people to use your credit card, please respect their time, privacy, and choices. Customers should never feel pressured into accepting a financial product or an offer they don’t fully understand or want. Everything should be explained clearly, consent should be respected, and customers’ concerns should be taken seriously.

A company’s reputation is built on trust and customer service, not just on selling credit cards. This experience has seriously damaged my impression of Neo Financial. I hope the company investigates this incident and provides a proper explanation regarding the handling of our personal information and the $50 used for Uber Eats.

CUSTOMERS ARE PEOPLE, NOT JUST CREDIT CARD APPLICATIONS! 🚫💳

Neo Financial, please take customer complaints seriously. We deserve respect, transparency, and privacy.#brampton #bra
