Longtime Minneapolis punks @theslowdeathmn return with their new single “Gonna Be A Riot,” premiering today at @newnoisemagazine. A dark, driving song, it pulls its lyrics entirely from Riot on the Sunset Strip, a 1967 B movie about the Hollywood curfew riots.

It’s the first track from Yesterday’s Numbers, the band’s sixth full-length, out Friday, November 20 via @dontsingatme and @anxiousandangry.

Often a three-piece on the road, The Slow Death grow to an eight-piece lineup for this record, featuring Jesse Thorson, Annie Sparrows (The Soviettes, Panel), and Minneapolis friends Kat Naden, Saumer Kinsey, Sam Beere, Luke Lecheler, Dylan Richie and Shawn Walker.

Soulful vocals and throwback group harmonies, blistering guitar leads, tastefully unhinged drums and swirling organ drive fun party songs about nothing and everything. They draw on familiar rock and roll tropes, with lyrics a bit more clever than most and a touch of Americana.

Celebrate the release with The Slow Death and @dasowth.sgh on Saturday, November 28 at Uptown VFW!

Listen to “Gonna Be A Riot” at the link in bio.

Tickets for this show are also linked in our bio, and if you don't buy yours in advance then the venue will not feed us pizza no matter what we say! Please help, we're so hungry 😭

The Transylvaniacs are back in the car!

In late April, we traveled to Vampa, the preeminent museum of the vampirism, demonology, and and battling the occult in Doylestown, PA. Part history, part folk art, Vampa must be seen to be believed.

Recorded live from Will’s Subaru, we talk curation, authenticity, and some of our favorite museums Minisode!

Listen now in the link in bio 🩸

The phrase “the worst Dracula movie we’ve ever seen gets bandied about so often these days. And yet.

Have you ever seen a movie so top-to-bottom inexplicable that you practically *quaked* at the prospect of discussing it? We have.

This episode, we dive into Luc Besson’s Dracula: A Love Story, a movie that dared to look at Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula and say “this needs more mind control perfume and bald gargoyle children”

Link in bio. You have been warned.

It’s finally here. The episode so nice, we recorded it twice, the episode those fat cats in Hollywood didn’t want you to hear: Dracula Untold
This time out were joined by writer and Dracula connoisseur @lanpitts as we delve into a would-be Cinematic Universe Starter and its many many flaws.
Find that link in our bio for all the Dracula-but-it’s-sort-of-300-maybe action you can stand!

Hey all you ghouls and ghosts, November cold snap got you down? Need a little place in the sun? Your beloved hosts of Transylvaniacs have covered. Inspired by one of our favorite, and often referenced tweets, we’ve put together a playlist of our spooky surf rock favorites for your listening pleasure.
