Possumstick Earthskills Gathering 2026! Wow, what a phenomenal gathering 🔥🏕️🌿 One of the very firsts of its kind here on Australian soils, for many years we have been drawing inspiration from the thriving ancestral skills scene in the US & EU.. And now we have created our own version, a 5 day camp bringing together instructors from all over to share earth skills. We are blown away by how amazing this gathering was! Thank you to all who traveled far and wide to be part of this. There is something special about this type of coming together with a focus on skill sharing.. The shared love for learning about these ancient skills & being part of a village. This was a world without politics, without screens, without walls, a place to gather by the fire & share stories, learn skills that bring you into your body & connect you with a long lineage of earth based knowledge. A mammoth amount of effort goes into pulling something like this off, the caterers who spent the whole gathering with smoke in their eyes cooking on the fire, the volunteers who kept things running smoothly, the instructors for carving time out of their busy work schedules to teach, the land owners for hosting us and all the participants who made this gathering as special as it was. It takes a village to run a village! Regardless of where in the world we stem from, our roots are embedded within these outdoor living skills. Fire, shelter, food, fibre, stone, bone, medicine, hunting, hide tanning & community. These skills are the fabric that has woven humanity together over hundreds & thousands of years, through these land based ways we not only find empowerment through practical skills but also a deep sense of connection & belonging 🌱 Our hearts have been cracked open through this village, we cant wait for the years to come 🔥 “The blood of our ancestors flows in our veins. Tonight is the finale of Alone season 13 and we wanted to give a massive shout to our brother from another mother Nero. Nero has come to Canada to spend a lot of time with us the past three years. He's given us his hard earned time in exchange for some of ours. It's been an absolute privilege to know that we played even just a small role in his journey of life. When you watch Nero on the TV, you're only getting a fraction of his story. But I think that speaks volumes as to the type of person he is because he comes across pretty darn incredible if you ask me! He is playful. He is loving. He is passionate. He is gracious. He is tenacious and hard working. He is a man that you want in your corner. We are SO proud of you Nero! 🖤 We very much hope that our life journeys continue to overlap and that our Arctic Aussie comes back (with his incredible family in tow) to us again soon 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 Enjoy the show tonight everyone and we are rooting for #teamaussienero all the way!!!
