Wheels of NYC.

Cars were the first thing I ever loved.

My grandfather and uncles worked at a garage on 23rd and 7th Ave in NYC. Every Friday after school, my grandmother would take me there. I remember being driven in a 1987 Porsche Carrera Turbo when I was seven. I fell in love with cars after that day 🤞🏽

Who is this girl?

She wore eyeliner and accidentally showed a hint of sideboob at the most beautiful fashion show that gives her goosebumps every time she thinks of it.

She received an invitation to that fashion show from one of the world’s leading designers who she can’t believe she gets to call a virtual penpal.

She cavorted with the Insta famous and new IRL buddies past 930pm three nights in a row.

She was told by the designer whose clothes who have been at the core of this zany adventure that he had been talking about her collection on that very same day.

She sat in a seat of honor at another fashion show- next to the parents of an extremely talented designer as his new creations walked the runway.

She has been taken under the wing of the most incredible, successful, and kind person who hails from the same glamourless part of the country she calls home and has made the most incredible life doing something he not only loves, but is a singular talent at.

She enjoyed a gleeful and giggly coffee with a person who so generously spotlighted her on the enormous virtual platform she has, and better yet, now gets to call that person a friend.

She has another friend, only made six months ago, who gives so much of herself to help not only this girl, but so many others, that one wishes she would believe in herself to the same magnitude, because like Rainbow Fish, she deserves to keep some of the sparkle to herself.

She almost turned around early on this trip because despite what social media shows, not everything goes the way it looks. Thank goodness she packed so much that her sore muscles made it impossible to lug those bags again without a few days of rest.

She is limited by character count on this post, even though there is so much more to remark on, which is probably for the best.

That girl, although hard to believe, is me.

I have tried to tag everyone who was part of the beautiful memories made over the last week, but given that I’m a bit overwhelmed by how special it was, please forgive any omissions.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. I ❤️ NYC.
