Mediterranean warmth and fishing heritage in Fuengirola with @nesuisr 🇪🇸

Towering four stories high in the El Boquetillo neighborhood, this monumental mural by Galician-born, Málaga-based painter Guillermo Paz is one of the highlights of Fuengirola's Paseo de los Murales.

Titled "Sinestesia" (Synesthesia), the piece creates an electric dialogue between warm and cool tones:

🔹 Her shoulders and hair dissolve into broad, textured strokes of cobalt, navy and ice blue that mimic the motion of breaking waves.

🔸 Her sun-kissed face radiates in warm golden ochre and terracotta under the southern Spanish sun.

But look closely at her sunglasses. Mirrored across the amber lenses is a moving tribute to Fuengirola's ancestral roots: fishermen working along the shoreline wash (el rebalaje), hauling in traditional nets beside a wooden fishing boat.

By reflecting ancient coastal labor inside the glasses of a modern woman, Nesui connects the neighborhood's working history directly to the present.

Swipe through to see the fishermen reflection up close and the incredible lineup of companion murals down the street.
