Last Thursday was the AI for Reverence event. Students got the chance to pitch their ideas in response to the question “How can artificial intelligence help show us greater reverence for every person and for creation?” With just 90 seconds to make their pitch, students brought many creative ideas to the amazing panel of judges. 🤩

The second part of the event will take place on November 18th, where five students will make their final pitch. 👏

Make sure to read more about this event in our upcoming newsletter! More photos from the event will be coming soon! 📸

We officially launched Authors Among Us! 🎉📖
Welcoming everyone to our very first year of celebrating the brilliant writers and creators in the Neumann community was pure magic.
Between an inspiring panel on writing and publishing and meeting so many amazing readers and fellow authors, it was an evening for the books. 💫
Huge thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the launch, and found a few new favorite reads!
What a incredible start to a new tradition. ✨

Last week I returned to my alma mater, @neumannuniversity after over 20 years to take part in their inaugural Authors Among Us Event.

As I toured the campus I remembered when I used to walk to school because I missed the bus that only ran every hour on the half hour. Or the many times we had to go outside in the freezing cold because someone burnt popcorn in the dorm and set off the fire alarm lol. I remember when I wanted to do a study abroad but it was only for the international business majors and I was studying psychology, so I had to make my case to the department heads and deans to be the first to go to London for a semester 👏🏿And going to on campus parties where people would ask me and @mylifeinsquareform if we practiced our dances before we came 🤣…we did not 💃🏿

I remember moving into my first apartment off campus with my 3 roommates from Neumann where we only paid $150 each for rent ☺️I immediately sent a photo of the apartment complex to @phaly28 to show her how it had not changed at all.

What has changed was the campus, it was nearly unrecognizable, but absolutely beautiful🤩 I was blown away at how much it has evolved since I was there when it was still Neumann College (see the van in my last photo). It made me want to go to school there…again lol.

The biggest full circle moment was seeing that the author event was being held at the same convent where I volunteered in the angel wing with terminally ill patients as a member of the Friends of Francis club. All these years later, I still talk about how that experience taught me about Alzheimer’s, dementia, grief, and the connection you can make with someone using little to no words at all. #RIPRose

Many thanks to Neumann University for inviting me back to share my journey with aspiring authors. It was such a pleasure to meet fellow alumni authors like the hostess with the mostest 😊 @yanpatan, as well as the faculty and staff, many who started after I graduated.

Very special thanks to my Philly Mom for being awesome ☺️And my fantastic 😉friend @docjj522 for taking time out to support me at our alma mater 🖤🤎🖤 #neumannknights #healingjourney #authorsofig #philadelphia

I set out to write Rise Up to inspire others that they can overcome adversity through the power of mindset, nutrition and movement. What I quickly realized is that writing it was one of the most healing things I have ever done. Last night, I had the opportunity to share a little of that journey back at my alma mater, Neumann University. ❤️

I was honored to be a panelist at Authors Among Us alongside fellow alumni and faculty authors. We talked about writing and publishing, what we learned along the way, and the work that goes into bringing a book to life.

What I loved most was hearing the stories behind everyone’s books. There were so many different experiences and perspectives in the room, and such a warm community of people supporting one another.

Thank you to the committee for bringing this evening to life and creating a space for us to share our work.

I’m grateful that my own story became Rise Up and that it continues to give me opportunities to connect with others. It was wonderful to come back to Neumann and be part of this evening.

If you haven’t read my book, grab in on Amazon. If you have and it’s inspired you in any way, feel free to write a review. ❤️ It’s always appreciated!
