POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🎉We officially completed #5marathons5days for Mental Health, Solidarity and Justice, July 28th-August 1st 2026! People and community power held us through this incredible experience, traversing over 4 Ben Nevis' in height 🥾💫 Every step was resistance against the system that killed our late friend and comrade Dr Pious Nyandoro, who's anniversary nears. Rest in Power, 15/3/77~10/8/2025

🫂Thank you to every single person, organisation, venue and business who has donated and made this challenge possible. With your generosity, encouragement, logistical support and care, we were able to cross the finish line for our finale community meal at @sheffieldcityofsanctuary

🐕30 people and 2 dogs joined us to walk over a staggering 584.26 miles in solidarity with freedom seekers and the impact of the migration system on mental health, supported by 24 organisations. We shared Pious' story and those like him, raising awareness of the intentional cruelty of policies that harm migrants and confronted misinformation and propaganda against our migrant communities

🔗We are so close to our fundraising target, with an incredible nearly £9000 donated so far. Every share or donation no matter how small will help us smash our target, to help recover the community funds used for Pious' repatriation and funeral costs, commission a mural in his memory and support VVIDY, an organisation he co-founded. Follow the link in bio to find out more about the cause and our challenge💜

This challenge tested out physical and mental limits, but we walked for Pious, system change and hope👣follow to continue this journey for justice with us

Together, our power is limitless

🌠Remembering Dr Pious Nyandoro 💭

With under 2 weeks to go until #5Marathons5Days , and 32% of our target raised, we are sharing the story of our late brother Dr Pious Nyandoro as the 1st anniversay of his death nears🫂

Pious should still be with us. With such an immense loss, we turn our grief into hope. His legacy, memory and power grow as we begin this campaign for justice.

We defy the systems that took his life. We know he is still with us as we organise, and is no longer suffering.

Thank you to everyone's support for our #fundraiser so far, there is still plenty of time to get involved, so we can:
🪙Replenish the community funds from ASSIST Sheffield which enabled Dr Pious's dignified repatriation back to his home Zimbabwe
🎨Commission a permanent mural celebrating his life and legacy
✊️Help sustain VVIDY CIC, an organisation Pious co-founded

🗣Show your solidarity:
💸Donations no matter what size take us closer to our target (🔗 in bio)
🥾Join us for part of the walk

🚨 COUNTER DEMO THIS SATURDAY 🚨

This Saturday 13th June, far-right group ‘Raise the Colours’ intend to March through Sheffield.

We know that Sheffield has a proud history of standing up to this hatred and division, with recent Counter-Demos like in the summer of 2024 showing the power of ordinary people to keep Nazis off the streets.

We need EVERYBODY OUT this Saturday, to show the Far-Right once and for all that they will never get a foothold in this city.

Send this post to your friends, your family, your neighbours. This city needs an anti-racist demonstration, and it will be bigger and better if you’re part of it 🤝

WELFARE NOT WARFARE
Saturday 12th April, 1pm
Outside Sheffield Town Hall
Called by @demandchange25
Supported by @peaceandjusticeproject @thepplsassembly @disabledpeopleagainstcuts @sheffieldwomenscollective @neusheffield @sheffieldsutr

Billions for war, cuts for the poor.
Starmer’s Labour are cutting £6.4bn from benefits, while increasing defense spending by £13.4bn. It’s mass murder abroad and social murder at home.

We Demand Change is a new movement. 2k joined our launch summit. We want to fight Labour and confront the far right. We say put people before profit, welfare not warfare, make the rich pay.

Turning the tide on despair. Read our launch statement: bit.ly/wdc-25
Signed by Jeremy Corbyn MP, Daniel Kebede NEU, Grace Blakeley (author & economist) and others.

SO MAKE SURE YOU DO!

It’s absolutely vital that teachers stand up for the education system in this country. Voting in the current NEU ballot is the most important thing you can do right now to show that children, schools, and everyone who works in them deserve better.

The Govt’s anti-union laws force us to re-ballot, and via post.

Please don’t allow these laws to prevent us winning for our members, schools & pupils.

Your ballot paper will arrive at your home address next week. Follow these 5 simple steps to ensure success:
