Yes, I am still alive! Nursing school has kept me quite busy, but I had some down time today and figured it was a good opportunity to complete the brake setup and install my @neuspeed.official 345mm two-piece rotors!

They're about 8-9lbs lighter per rotor (❗️) than the stock 340mm MQB PP rotors or the stock 345mm MK6 R rotors, so a huge savings in unsprung rotational mass. Plus, the directional vanes mean the rotor pumps air through the ring outward radially as it spins for a lot of additional cooling. You want 345mm diameter rotors with these calipers in general because without, the pads will overhang the outer radius by several milimeters (ask me how I know).

The complete brake setup is as follows:

•@freakyparts 4 piston Brembo kit for MQB
•@neuspeed.official 345mm two-piece rotors
•@Racingbrakeusa Vented pistons and high temp seals
•@carbotechbrakes 1521 street pads/XP10 track pads
•@motul RBF600 fluid

If you have any questions, don't be afraid to reach out! This setup isn't as common as the Macan swap and upgrading the calipers is not widely documented. Along with several OBD tweaks to the brake software, the pedal feels night and day different to stock and the car feels so great to drive hard😎

Almost a decade with this car. The one that started it all. 🏁

It’s seen time attack, drag racing, countless late nights, broken parts, different chapters of my life, and more money than I’d ever care to calculate. 😂

What started as a simple build has turned into a low 500 WHP car (on E85), running 60–130 in the 6s and capable of high 9s to low 10s in the quarter.

Fully equipped with MPI, upgraded LPFP, intercooler, B16 coilovers, AWE Track exhaust, G25 - 660 and a laundry list of supporting mods.

Funny enough, it’s been on a three-year hiatus for some undisclosed reasons… but that’s a story for another time. 👀

And of course, it’s still not finished. I want to repaint the carbon hood while keeping the vents exposed, add buckets, a cage, refresh the interior, and get a proper BBK because these stock brakes at this power are TERRIFYING.

This car is a big reason PFD Garage exists.

Poor Financial Decisions. It’s a little humor about the ridiculous things we do for cars we love. The money never really makes sense, but the memories, friendships, late nights, and experiences make every dollar feel worth it.

I’ve owned other cars and I’ll own more, but this is the one I’ll never sell. Too many memories, too many people connected to it, and unfortunately, WAY too much money invested. 😂

Almost ten years later, it still puts a smile on my face.

Poor Financial Decisions. Worth Every Mile.
