🔥OUT NOW‼️ Dive into the scintillating sequel to King of Dead Things by Nevin Holness (@nevinholness) — where gods, secrets, and ancient magic threaten to reshape everything you thought you knew about London. 🌌✨ Eli, the silver-tongued thief with no memory of his past, and his found family must journey back to the very origins of magic in London to uncover the truth about his lost identity. With the malevolent daughter of Death vanquished during the nine-night epic, peace is fragile, but new shadows rise—whispering that some secrets refuse to stay buried. 🗝️🔮 Malcolm, grappling with his inherited death magic, faces heartbreak, unspoken truths, and the possibility of first love, while Sunny, Max, and their friends are fractured and desperate to lay the past to rest. When Malcolm discovers a mysterious letter in an ancient magical sanctuary, they realize they must find a hidden key — a relic of their ancestors — to stand a chance against the darkness hunting Eli. 🌑✨ As nightmares bleed into reality and Eli’s past threatens to catch up, they’ll need to unlock forgotten magic buried in London’s history — before it’s too late. Perfect for fans of Legendborn and Leigh Bardugo, this story is a breathtaking blend of Afro-Caribbean folklore, urban fantasy, and emotional resilience. Are you ready to unravel the secrets of the first magic in London? 🚀🔥 Big thanks to @simonandschuster Children's Publishing, @simonteen, and @netgalley for the ARC! #KingOfLostDreams #MustRead #UrbanFantasy #AfroCaribbeanFolklore #SecretsUnveiled

Here’s the second to the last group for my little series: The Americas! 🌎 Like my post for African mythology and folklore, this group makes me the most nervous to talk about because I don’t want to misrepresent and misinterpret the author’s work and the culture they are writing about and are from. So again, if I make a mistake here, I’m so sorry!! 😬 This part of the world is so diverse and vast and I’m so excited to see more and more books coming out inspired by the incredible cultures from here. I am VERY hopeful that it continues to expand and that more and more books get picked up in the future! 🤞🏼 Again, I’m sure I’m forgetting a book or two here, so please leave the comments if so! ❤️ The last group in my little series: the European continent! 🌍

It's the #NationalYearofReading and one of the target groups is teenage boys. Lots of book influencers here and on TikTok have made videos recommending books for teenage boys, which is a good start, but the titles they have chosen often miss the mark. If we want to get teenagers reading we need to meet them where they are with books that reflect their realities in 2026. #bookstagram #booksforteens #yafiction #goallin

What was the last book you read that was by a Black author? OR What's something new you'd like to try doing? I saw a few posts over the last few weeks highlighting the drop in sales of books by Black authors. There were people hemming and hawing about why that might be, but one person summed it up well: When a White author writes a book, it's purchased by both White readers and POC readers; but, when a POC writes a book, often their readership is made up mainly of other POCs. Same with gender - when a man writes a book, all genders might purchase; but, when a woman writes a book, largely men abstain from buying. All that to say - support POC authors, read diversely, and check out all these upcoming releases 🙌🏻🙌🏻 [ID Alt Text Available] Text: 2026 Releases by Black Authors, Q3 - July to September.
