Day 2 of interviews for Rise from the Ashes is a wrap. On Friday at @locale.studios on Main Street, we sat down with three more voices from Old Town Newhall:

Care and Jonny of @caretuckerstylehouse a style house affected by the fire that is preparing for its October 24 fashion show in Castaic.

Christine and Rafael of the @newhallrefinery a restaurant lost in the fire and working toward reopening on Main Street.

Mayor Pro Tem @patsyayalamayorprotem of the City of Santa Clarita, who joined us to talk about Old Town Newhall and this community.

A big thank you to my crew for two long, hard days: @lighthousestudioproductions on camera, @zhotsbyleire behind the scenes, and @new.man.gan on sound. And thank you to Locale Studios for giving these conversations a home.

Every story is told in their own words. “Rise from the Ashes” Documentary coming soon.

“More eyes to see my art, which is nice.” 🎨

This is Jane Mick, a painter whose Illuminated Women series was lost in the Old Town Newhall fire. Weeks later she stood in a room full of people who came to look at her work, say they were sorry, share food, bid in a silent auction, and take a big group photo together.

She didn’t just talk about loss. She talked about being seen, and about a community that showed up.

That’s what Rise From The Ashes is about: the people of Old Town Newhall rebuilding through art, music, community, and film. 🔥

We’re still filming and raising funds to finish this story. If you’d like to help, the link is in our bio. 🙏🏽

Thank you to @jane.mick.art and @newhallrefinery for being part of this, and to @hartandmainevents for hosting.

Behind the scenes of Rise From The Ashes. 🎬🔥

Last week we sat down with the people of Old Town Newhall at @locale.studios to start capturing the stories of the fire, the loss, and what comes next. These are the conversations the film is built on.

Thank you to everyone who trusted us with their story: @tobibeck_art @jane.mick.art @and @motomusicland and to the crew that made the day happen: @lighthousestudioproductions on camera, @new.man.gan on sound, and @zhotsbyleire behind the scenes, who took these photos.

We’re still filming, and we’re raising funds to finish this film for the community it belongs to. If you’d like to be part of it, the link is in our bio. 🙏🏽

“The Main’s on fire. Did I read that right?” @tobibeck_art

Tobi Beck remembers the exact moment she found out, scrolling through social media, piecing it together post by post before the full picture hit. And the first person she thought of was Jane Mick, one of their own artists, who had a solo show running inside The MAIN that very day.

This is the kind of story Rise from the Ashes is built on. Not the fire itself, but the moment it became real for the people who loved this place.

Would you consider donating to help us keep telling these stories?
