🩷🏃‍♀️ THE COUNTDOWN IS ON… 42.2KM! 🏃‍♀️🩷

Well… I’ve officially gone and done it! 😂 From someone who only started running at the end of 2025, 2027 will see me take on my BIGGEST challenge yet — my very first FULL MARATHON! 😱🔥

📍 Newcastle Henderson Marathon
📅 Sunday, 18 April 2027
🏃‍♀️ 42.2KM
🎗️ Raising money for Cure Cancer

This one is about so much more than a finish time. Every early alarm, long run, tired leg and “why did I sign up for this?!” moment 😂 will be for something bigger — helping support life-changing cancer research. 🩷

My training journey is about to begin, and I would absolutely LOVE to have you along for the ride.

💰 Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.
📣 Can’t donate? Sharing my page and cheering me on means just as much!

Great North Run week is more than race day. It is everything your body has carried to get there.

The long runs.

The tight calves.
The stiff hips.
The little niggles you keep hoping will settle on their own.

Our work is not just about feeling relaxed for an hour.
It is about helping your body feel prepared, supported, and ready to keep moving.

Pre-run preparation
Recovery support
Mobility-focused aftercare
Rehab-informed guidance

Whether you’re preparing for the Great North Run, returning from a hard training block, or simply feeling the cost of staying active, your recovery deserves proper attention.

Massive congratulations to @melissamcgarva on completing the Newcastle Marathon — her second marathon 👏🏼

This one wasn’t just about race day… it was about everything that came with it.

The early mornings.
The long runs.
The learning.
The setbacks.

From building consistency, improving her pacing, dialling in her fuelling, navigating injuries, shift work, moving house, and even dealing with illness in race week… this was far from a smooth, “perfect” build.

But that’s exactly what makes this even more impressive.

Because despite all of that - she showed up, trusted the process, and got it done!! 👏🏼

That’s what a marathon is really about…

Not perfection.
Not ideal conditions.
But resilience, adaptability and belief.

To go from where you were, to running your first marathon with confidence, strength and composure… That’s something to be seriously proud of!

This is just the start 👊🏼

So much footage I made a second recap 😏

A few more shots from the marathon.

Did it hurt? Yes
By the time I crossed the finish line I had stopped a dozen times to stretch out cramps and was forced to walk sections because of them also.
It was 100% worth it.
The high fives with SLSC volunteers at aid stations and turn around points, the borderline break down at 40km, the game of tag with someone suffering cramps and pains like I was, seeing someone getting loaded in the back of an ambulance, the impromptu running group with two others for the last km.

It won’t be my last, but you always remember your first.
