The team behind New Forum would like to recognize and thank The Green Initiative Fund for supporting the printing of our literary journal for the third year in a row.

The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) is a student-run board designed to empower undergraduate students with the financial resources to fund projects that promote sustainability on campus. TGIF is funded by a $3.50 per quarter “sustainability fee.”

New Forum is committed to supporting our campus writing and arts community by giving them a space to share their work, but we are also committed to doing so in a sustainable manner. Because of this, we have printed our annual journal with California Green Press since 2024.

California Green Press is California’s recognized leader in eco-friendly printing and uses 100% post-consumer waste recycled papers and soy/vegetable-based inks with low volatile organic compounds output.

TGIF’s support makes it so that our valued contributors can have a sustainably printed copy of the journal, free of charge.

Hello everyone! Coming to you all this Fall Quarter is 🎙️ Open Mic Night 🎙️! The event will be hosted by the Creative Writers' Guild (CWG), English Majors' Association (EMA), Echolalia, Book Club, and New Forum! This event will be happening on Wednesday, November 19th and running through 7-9 PM at Humanities Gateway 1010!!! ✒️📖

Open Mic Night is an opportunity for artists of all genres to showcase their talents and share their creativity with a supportive audience! The presentation must be less than 10 minutes to give other artists courtesy of time to present.

We ask that everyone be respectful to others as this event is meant to be a safe space for sharing. This also applies to our artists presenting as we do also ask to list content warnings at the beginning of your presentation if there are any sensitive or triggering themes. If you didn't RSVP, there will be open floor time to present, but we highly recommend you RSVP so we can allocate the proper time for you to present.

We hope to see you all showcase your works! 🎤🤩
