Umami Hottie started as a line of chili oils sold through a San Francisco ramen restaurant. The opportunity was bigger than a packaging refresh. We helped build a new brand identity and packaging system designed to take the brand from restaurant-born product to retail-ready CPG. The creative direction lived in the tension: Cultural, but not traditional. Bold, but not bright. Classy, but not boring. Modern, but not flat. Friendly, but not childish. From the hyottoko-inspired mascot and icon system to the dimensional type, gold foil and freezer-ready packaging, every piece was built to feel unmistakably Umami Hottie. Beraber - Between Us / Afterthought, out now on @united.identities 🤍 So very happy and excited to share these two new tracks with you, the first bits from my upcoming release called ‘Gentle Actions’! It’s been a long time coming really and it feels GOOD to finally put some solo music back out into the world 🌎 Big big love to dearest @__carista and the United Identities fam for the trust, support and endless encouragement, I’m grateful to be releasing this record on a label that feels like home to me. Big shout-out to @newjasper for giving this record the loveliest look and feel 🌸 These first two tracks are called ‘Between Us’ & ‘Afterthought’ and were both written and produced in my studio in Amsterdam. Afterthought may sound familiar to some, iykyk 👀 It never hit the streamers though, so it felt right to include it here as a digital bonus track. You can stream these two wherever you like to listen to your music, and pre-order the release via Bandcamp or your favorite record store.
