Book + restaurant feature ✨ I love reading books set in our home city of Melbourne / Naarm, so of course I had to pickup The Boyfriend Clause by Bridie Blake at the library. This is a contemporary romance set in the inner city suburb of Richmond. The main character Sabrina owns a café and makes exceptional baked goods. But she can’t seem to crack a smile from her grumpy yet handsome writer neighbour. Tropes include grumpy sunshine and fake dating, and there’s even an international trip to England. It’s an overall lighthearted read, and I loved the Melbourne references especially the trams and our super high standards for coffee ☕️ Featured here also is an Asian-fusion restaurant that we went to in Richmond recently, and the outfit I wore that day to go from office to dinner. Hanoi Hannah's 2012 opening was formative for Melbourne's hospitality landscape, part of a wave of restaurants that helped define Melbourne dining's grungy yet approachable, easy-going yet energetic, bold and dynamic style.
