Life is not lonely or empty just because an only doesn't have a sibling.

We love to travel when we can and go exploring.

Our latest trip was driving to Southern West Virginia for the first time and we loved it all!

We explored the @newrivernps and Babcock State Park including:

Grandview
New River gorge bridge
Grist Mill
Thurmond

We went into a real coal mine in Beckley and explore thier old coal camp buildings.

We found some treasures at @tamarack_wv and ate a delicious meal at @black.circle.bistro

Life is not boring with an only child!

We are up in Fayetteville checking out new Hill Hall Hotel (converted into a boutique hotel from the old Fayetteville High School) this weekend for one last blast of fall foliage. Look. How. Beautiful.🤩 What a perfect home-base station for to explore New River Gorge!! 🧡🍂💛

You ARE the main character, after all 😌

Solo hikes just hit different. No plans. No noise. No rushing, just exploring hidden places, getting outside and enjoying your own company.

So glad I chose West Virginia over Shenandoah NP this past weekend!

Once I saw Shenandoah’s website calling for potential peak fall color, I had a feeling everyone would be heading there. (They did)

Between those crowds and the traffic on the Blue Ridge Parkway, I’m glad I trusted my gut. West Virginia gave me mountain views, summits, and fall colors that I thought were even prettier, with hardly any traffic or congested crowds.

All the fall vibes with room to actually enjoy it. 🍂

Enjoy my little fall preview of my weekend around the Grand Rim!

Go to West Virginia just to see a bridge?

"Well, the bridge is a prominent feature at 876 feet above the water. And every third Saturday in October, called Bridge Day, it is open for walking, rappelling, legal BASE jumping, and the largest one-day festival in West Virginia. Bridge Day is internationally known as a “World Series” of BASE jumping.

Being fortunate enough to live nearby, almost on the precipice so to speak, I ride the area frequently. New River Gorge National Park, long and sinuous, follows the water with a vast amount of beauty and absolutely great riding. There is no single road to follow, with some areas remote and hard to access. “Cain’t get thar from here,” we tell bemused folks. I decided to take an all-day ride around the park and follow the drive attraction route on the park map to hit the main locations."

Go for the bridge. Stay for the twisties! From sweeping gorge overlooks to historic coal towns and winding roads through the Appalachian hills, New River Gorge National Park is definitely worth exploring on two wheels.

I had so much fun getting to hangout with Ava + Brandon in New River Gorge National Park 🫶🏻

Brandon found me on Instagram and booked me so they could have their first experience with a photographer after six years 🥹🤍

The Gorge holds a special place in my heart so I always love being able to go back so often for my sessions ✨

Thank you for trusting me to capture these for y’all!!!! ✨

A little summer left in the air, a little autumn finding its way into every corner

There’s something beautiful about the in-between — when one season isn’t ready to leave, and another is quietly arriving.
