I ain’t gonna lie that had us in the first half…

Will still replace these but fun to work on anyway. Will look to do some fine tuning and testing.

18th in Optics at the US IPSC Nationals against an absolutely stacked field.

This match was awesome. Nearly every stage had some degree of an activator and moving target sequence, which made for a challenging and technical match.

My focus going in was consistency of performance and risk mitigation, shooting the arrays I could control and making disciplined decisions throughout the match.

I finished shooting 96% of the available points, with 33 Charlies and just 1 Delta on a Swinger

Typically, I shoot a tick more aggressively, but at this match I wanted to make a point of mitigating unnecessary risk and seeing what that approach produced across an entire match.

Definitely plenty to work on, which is always the case.

Stoked to get back on the grind, per usual. 🤙

DRY FIRE!!!

This is one of my favorite dry fire drills.

1” squares at 5 yards.

On the beep draw and “fire” 1 round into one of the 1” squares on your target.

My goal is to do it under 1.5 seconds.

I do it 10 times, and repeat the session 3 times before moving to a different skill.

What this drill focuses on:
1) reaction to the timer
2) consecutive consistent draws
3) consecutive consistent grips
4) trigger prep
5) consistent dot acquisition
6) consistent trigger press
