My thoughts on the Lamar Jackson injury/media situation. 💜

I’m not one to typically do football analysis publicly or use this account for NFL news but as a Ravens fan, I’ll happily make an exception for this.

Lamar is currently dealing with what was announced as a high ankle sprain. If it were the minor ankle injury it was initially made out to be, and he could’ve returned to the game, it would be a slightly different story. But we’re talking about a high ankle sprain, which can be an extremely painful injury. He said it himself to the media the other day.

If the day after his injury, the media had announced it was a high ankle sprain with a potential 4–6 week recovery timeline, I honestly don’t think we’d be having this same conversation about how “Lamar is soft,” “Lamar isn’t trying hard enough,” “Lamar is quitting on his team,” or “He got his money.”

It’s a contact sport, and Lamar is a dual-threat QB. Injuries happen. It’s part of the game.

That being said, Lamar Jackson is one of one. I think sometimes we take for granted how rare it is to experience a football talent like him. We truly may never see it again.

It’s frustrating watching fans and analysts constantly switch up the narrative on this guy week after week, but honestly, it’s been that way throughout his entire career.

At the end of the day, he’s a human being just like me and you. This guy puts so much heart and work into what he does, and it shows. Yes, it can be frustrating when the team is losing or facing adversity, but football is competitive, and nobody likes to lose. But injuries happen. It is what it is.

Let Lamar heal up and get back out there when he’s ready. And I guarantee you, a lot of the same people hating on him now will be switching up when he’s lighting up the field soon!

Got a ton of respect and love for ya, @new_era8 Keep taking it a day at a time like we know you are. Baltimore’s got your back! 💜

Hope to see you soon for my first Ravens game on TNF against the Jags! 😎
