Y’all, being an Eagles fan this season is requiring a whole different level of emotional flexibility. 😭😂🦅

And I know my fellow Eagles fans understand EXACTLY what I’m talking about!

But this week feels a little different.

Because as much as I love football, there are things that matter so much more than what happens on that field.

And sometimes being a fan means holding a whole lot of emotions at once.

Disappointment. Frustration. Concern. Hope. Love for your team.

All of it can exist together. 💛

That’s one of the things I appreciate about this Regulated Football series. We’re making room for the full experience of being fans without making ourselves wrong for having feelings about it.

You can be invested without being consumed.

You can care deeply and still pay attention to what all that caring is doing in your body.

And you can absolutely question a coaching decision without needing to become the head coach yourself. Although some of us have VERY strong qualifications from our living rooms. 😂🏈

And before anything else, Jalen, we’re praying you have a full and complete recovery. Your health comes first, always. 💛

Now, football family, how are we doing this week? 👀

And Eagles fans, I especially need to hear from y’all. 😂

Same game. A more regulated you.

Go Birds! 🦅

At this point, I think my Eagles are personally committed to making sure I have material for Regulated Football every week. 😭😂🦅

And apparently, I needed this week’s lesson just as much as anybody else.

One thing I love about this series is that I’m not teaching from some imaginary place where I’ve mastered every reaction. I’m right here practicing alongside y’all.

I still get excited. I still talk to the TV. I still question coaching decisions like somebody asked me to join the staff. 😂

And I don’t want to lose any of that!

What I am discovering is how much there is to learn about ourselves in the moments when we’re fully invested in something.

Football just happens to give us a whole lot of opportunities to practice. 🏈

So here’s to another Sunday of cheering, laughing, questioning the refs, and hopefully celebrating a WIN! 🙌🏾

And tomorrow, we’re reviewing the film. 🎥

Tell me, who are you rooting for today? And how much has your team tested you this season? 😂

Same game. A more regulated you.

Go Birds! 🦅

Sunday football is back, and so is another episode of Regulated Football! 🏈🟨

Now, after what my Eagles put me through last week, I think it’s only appropriate that we’re talking about RECOVERY today. 😭😂

I’m going into this week’s game hopeful, cautiously optimistic, and fully aware that my team may test every bit of what I’ve been practicing.

And I’m still going to enjoy myself. 😂🦅

But can we talk about the unexpected guest who decided to make her debut in this week’s reel?! 👀🐈

Everybody, meet Chicago, affectionately known as Chi! 💛

She apparently heard me recording and decided she had something to contribute to the conversation. 😂

There’s a whole story behind how this little girl became part of our family, and I’ll share more about her soon. For now, just know that she’s already making herself right at home.

And honestly, her timing couldn’t have been more fitting for this week’s conversation. 🥹💛

Anyway, back to football! 😂

Tell me, who’s your team playing today, and how are we feeling going into the game?

Same game. A more regulated you.

Go Birds! 🦅

🎤 DIANA BROUGHT MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY. 🤠✨

Give it up for our girl Diana, who absolutely CRUSHED her karaoke punishment at LALA in South Tampa! 👏

She understood the assignment, gave us a whole performance, and turned a fantasy football punishment into one hell of a night. 💃🎶

10/10. No notes. ⭐️

Meanwhile… we’re STILL waiting on Charlie to complete his WEEK 2 40-yard dash. 🏃‍♂️⏱️

Charlie, the clock is ticking. TICK TOCK. 👀

Monday Film Review 🎥🏈

Whew. Yesterday gave us some FILM to review. 😭😂

And yes, I’m still recovering from that Eagles loss. 🦅

But remember what we were actually paying attention to this week:

That little space between our first reaction and what happens next.

Not whether we stayed calm.

Not whether we yelled at the TV…or, in my case, at the play-by-play on my phone. 😂

Not whether we handled every moment “perfectly.”

Just noticing.

What happened?

What did my body do?

And then what happened next?

Yesterday was such a good reminder for me that our bodies don’t need much information to have a whole response. I couldn’t even see the Eagles game because I’m in Chicago and the Bears 🙄😂 were on the same channel.

And STILL…

Every refresh had me going through something.

Hope. 👀

Excitement.

Anticipation.

Tension.

Frustration.

A little more hope.

And eventually…

😭😭😭

What stood out to me wasn’t that I had those reactions.

Of course I did.

I care. I’m invested. I’m an Eagles fan.

The part I’m getting curious about is:

Can I catch myself somewhere between the reaction and the next refresh?

Can I notice when the last play is still living in my body even though the game has already moved on?

Can I recognize that little bit of space without immediately trying to make myself feel differently?

That’s the practice.

Because we’re not trying to become people who don’t react.

We’re building the capacity to notice ourselves while we do.

So review your film. 🎥

Where did you notice that little space yesterday?

And if you didn’t notice it until today?

That counts too.

Same game. A more regulated you. 🏈

Go Birds! 🦅

I picked a GREAT week to teach this because after Eagles vs. Bears last week…baby. 😭😂

This series is becoming just as much practice for me as it is something I’m sharing with y’all.

I love football. I’m going to yell. I’m going to celebrate. I’m probably going to question a few decisions from my couch like somebody asked me to join the coaching staff. 😂 None of that is the problem.

What I’m becoming more curious about is myself in the middle of it.

How quickly does my body respond?

What gets me ALL the way activated?

What passes in a few seconds?

What follows me into the next play?

And when do I actually have a choice about what I do with all that energy?

That’s the part I’m watching this week.

So yes, I’ll be watching the Eagles like this 🫣, but I’ll also be watching me. 😂

If you’re watching football today, pay attention to yourself too. You might learn something.

Same game. A more regulated you.

Go Birds! 🦅
