I’ve had the pleasure of volunteering/collaborating with a talented and inspiring group of humans on launching a new community-based, professional grade build shop in Oakland called @thebeamoakland!

Located st 1188 65th St, just off San Pablo, this stunning 10,000 sq foot space features post-and-beam warehouse space with brick details, skylights, and VIIIIBE! Also:
- fully equipt metal & wood shops
- additional work space for non-metal/wood mediums like 3D printing, sewing, fiber arts, and much more
- big community room for events, party rentals, classes, discussions, with kitchen
- parking lot
- outdoor spaces
- high ceilings plus 2 roll-up doors for great access
- it’s still evolving snd we want your input!

Will be available on a membership basis to “bench holders” artists, fabricators, makers, builders, designers who want to create among others in a truly unique and inspiring space.

Curious? Great! Come to an OPEN HOUSE!
- Weds 3/11, 4-8pm
- Sun 4/12, 10am-2pm

One year ago today, we asked 130 incredible humans to go home and standby until it’s safe to come back to work. Today we are still here...just a whole lot different.

Of course we miss events and we miss light bulbs...But most of all we miss the staff, the family, the talent, and the laughter that make up the soul of Got Light.

Here’s to just barely seeing the light at the end of this tunnel and bringing us back together soon...
