Act Up at 40 London Calendar Launch: A Celebration of 40 Years of Resistance And Collective Power! ✊🩷 Join us on Friday 23rd October at The Advocacy Academy from 6:30pm - 8:30pm! In 2027, the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) marks 40 years of militant, creative and uncompromising activism. To mark the anniversary, ACT UP at 40: Celebrating Resistance and Demanding Healthcare for All — Calendar 2027 brings together the people, protests and turning points of a movement that changed the course of the HIV/AIDS crisis. On the night we will be launching ‘ADOPT AN ACT UP VETERAN’ where a new generation of change-makers eager to change the world and committed to confront Gilead’s price blocking UK access to groundbreaking HIV prevention tool lenacapavir will be paired by ACT UP activist veterans to build friendships and create strategic protest plans to continue fighting for access to healthcare and medication for all.  The launch will be accompanied by a conversation with activists, photographers and filmmakers who documented and participated in the early years of ACT UP London and a new generation of organisers to ask: What can ACT UP teach us now? Followed by ACT UP’s finest DJ Chano Gillett. Tickets are donation based and there are very limited spaces - all profits go to support the calendar tour and the ‘Fund Healthcare Not Warfare’ international demo in 2027, book through the link in Act Up London’s bio! Hosted by ACT UP’s Own Alix Fox and Patrick Braithwaite! Speakers & Performers Include: Documenting ACT UP - Gordon Rainsford, Archiving ACT UP - Niamh Glanville-Frayne, Designing ACT UP - Matt Bonner, ACT UP Legacy - Andria Mordaunt, Jack Wingate - Contributing Editor to ‘ACT UP at 40’, Diego Agurto Beroiza - ACT UP London member and PHD Student investigating contemporary performance, activism and collective creation, with a particular focus on HIV, sexuality, gender and memory PLUS opening speeches and performances from ACT UP London’s Dan Glass and VIV!
