How do you say thank you and farewell to a place that means so much? I don’t have that answer yet, and maybe never will, but I am forever indebted to the Lord for placing me at Camp Willow Run for a third and final summer on staff. He has met me in this place over and over again. I am a better man because of it. He is faithful. Thank you to this staff for turning my job into a joy every day through your humor, smiles, and faithfulness in your service. You have all of my heart. I pray Numbers 6:24-26 over all of you. What an incredible three summers. I have stood on the shoulders of giants and seen the goodness and glory and love of God. There truly is a sweet, sweet spirit at Camp Willow Run. It is well with my soul.

the closest i’ll get to heaven on this side of eternity. we all know i could sit here and glaze camp until I reach the character limit, but instead I wanna glaze someone who deserves it much more than even cwr (which I truly believe is the greatest place on earth). camp is only good because He is. my friends are only wonderful because He is. we are only able to love because He does. we only find joy when we discover that He is the true source. healing is only possible because He is the Great Healer. we can only have peace because He promises to give it to us. we are only safe & protected because He refuses to slumber or sleep. creation is only beautiful because He created it. life is only abundant because He is. like everything in life does at some point or another, my time at camp has come to an end, but how lucky am I that I am known, loved, and cared for by the One who never ends! camp is all things good and lovely, and yet, it’s only a mere shadow of the IMMEASURABLE goodness and glory of the Father—glory that I will one day get to see with my very own eyes and experience in full. and on that day, I will be filled with the type of joy that camp brings, only times 100 million and untainted by the presence of sin and the brokenness of this world. oh how i long for that day! but until then, i press on, rejoicing that I get to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the LIVING in a million different ways every single day, no matter where I am. cwr is oh so good. but Jesus is OH so much BETTER, and He calls me HIS!!! 20 tag limit so here’s the ppl that didn’t get tagged :) @henry____stone @elimagrini_ @reecevanhim @owenfulk @mallory.crocker @adongreear @avaa.williams

i’ve got the joy joy joy down in my heart going into this summer i was consumed by worries and doubts after walking through a difficult season, and i was unsure of how the Lord was going to use me at camp because of my brokenness. however, the Lord laid this message on my heart: “i’m not done with you yet.” and with those words on my heart and trusting in the Lord’s faithfulness, i went into my third summer at camp. and oh how glad am i that the Lord uses us despite our brokenness! not only did the Lord silence my worries and doubts but He also restored my joyful spirit. this summer has reminded me time and time again that the Lord is my helper, my El Roi, and the ultimate source of my joy. i am overwhelmed by the works God has done in my life this summer. it has been my joy to serve on staff for a third summer and to see how diligently the Lord has worked in the lives of everyone who steps foot on camp. “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again-rejoice! Let everyone see the you are considerate in all that you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything: instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7

12 years. Including this extraordinary one on staff. Same unimaginably powerful, graceful, loving, and almighty god that has dwelled in this place. From now seeing what it looks like to stand on the shoulders of giants, to overcoming scores of trials, this summer has been nothing short of incredible. Without, and I mean WITHOUT a doubt I know, that I have been revived, when I shall (for now) leave my favorite place on earth. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21.
