snakes.

thank you so much for sending all the snakes. I wasn't able to include all of them but I will post more in my stories.

I'm thinking about snakes and what they symbolize and how people feel when they look at them.

I'm thinking about skin myth and how people all over the world draw and sculpt and paint write about the same things in so many different ways.

When I found a snake skin in the yard where I was working about a month ago, I thought to myself: something's going to shift.

all artists tagged in lower left except the ones listed below.

Coming soon: 𝓝𝓲𝓬𝓸𝓵𝓸 an exhibition by #SCADalum NH DePass (B.F.A., graphic design, 2017) opens Oct. 12 at the SCAD Museum of Art!

In this exhibition, DePass presents a collection of assemblages centered around his alter ego Nicolo, a young Italian artistic prodigy. Through the character of Nicolo, DePass experiments with modes of making, combining carpentry, etching, drawing, found objects and oil painting with digital modeling and contemporary fabrication technologies.

Step into Nicolo’s world and discover how creative freedom can open new possibilities for self-expression.

“Nicolo” is organized by SCAD Museum of Art associate curator Brittany Richmond.

NH DePass, “Portrait of Nicolo with Airplane,” 2026, oil on canvas, teak plywood, high-pressure laminate, felt, brass, steel, antique toys, postcard, and found objects, 48 1/2 x 62 x 15 1/2 in. Courtesy of the artist.

Success in art increasingly depends on infrastructure — not just talent. @mohilef_studios is a great example of how to do it: designed by artists, for artists.
