Our sister, Isla Levy, backpacked through North Africa this summer. She traveled through Senegal, Mauritania, and Morocco for three weeks and stayed in hostels, met lots of people, did 3am hikes, and rode an iron train through the desert. She then went to London, England for a week. Violets to Isla!

Our sister, Kalina Egan, spent over 60 hours observing physical therapists at Spear Physical Therapy for Performing Artists in NYC. Spear Physical Therapy for Performing Artists offered a unique opportunity to work with performing artists such as actors, dancer, and musicians which was a very impactful experience as a dancer herself. Violets to Kalina!

Our sister, Christina D’Albora, has been working in the Bruns lab on campus researching anther smut disease in flowers. In this position, she has been testing and studying the ecological and evolutionary dynamics of this fungal pathogen in natural populations. Violets to Christina for her hard work!

Our sister, Mckinley Jovanovic, studied abroad in Rome, Italy and travelled to the Ligurian region and Florence to do a professional writing course that focused on food reviewing. Through this, she went to unique restaurants and took cooking classes, learning the technique and differences in food by region. Violets to Mckinley!

Our sister, Sam Cohen, has been a visuals intern with The Record / NorthJersey.com, a newspaper in northern New Jersey this summer. She has documented politics, sports, local news, the World Cup, and even covered the Knicks Parade, too! Violets to Sam for all of her hard work!

Our sister, Annalee Marling, interned at Operation Smile in the Events & Partnerships Department. This summer, she helped plan ways to attract new donors, including coordinating vendors and planning galas in Miami and Los Angeles. One notable project she worked on was designing a brick garden located at the headquarters in Virginia Beach. Violets to Annalee!

Our sister, Camila Gonzalez, has been working as a therapeutic support technician. This summer, she has been working with adults with developmental disabilities around the state of Maryland.

Happy National Women’s History Month! 🤍

Here are some words from our incredible Director of Inclusion, @misskitty0306

“This month, we honor and remember the hard work and sacrifices of all the women who came before us, who made our world what it is now. We cherish our sisters, and our love and devotion to each other. We celebrate the women we are now and the women we’ll become. Happy Women’s History Month from ADPi!”
