Lighting breakdown: DSU Volleyball Hype Day 🏐💡

Walked into the gym with a plan. Two Aputure 600s, one in each corner, both aimed straight at the net — crossing light from both directions so we could work both sides of the net fast during the shoot.

Step one of the plan: black out the room.

Step one died the second we walked in. The gym lights weren't going off. 😅

So we pivoted. Instead of fighting the ambient, we leaned into it — let the natural light do the heavy lifting and used our kit to accent and shape it.

On set:
🔸 Aputure 600s
🔸 Nova P300s
🔸 Aputure 400Xs
🔸 ADCs + Nanlite Pavo Tubes

The plan you walk in with is never the plan you walk out with. Knowing how to pivot on the spot is the whole job — and we still created some dope imagery.

Big S/O to @jayesdp for bringing the sauce and lighting the set all day. 🙌
